Round 4: California Wineries Sonoma Grand Prix

The racing is getting tight as attrition takes its toll on men and machines in the GTPLMS. Fewer cars than expected showed up in all categories, and this in turn made things interesting in the championship races
Prototype racing saw newcomers GTXDriver and GT3Emperor take polls in P1 and P2 respectively, but it was the perennial podium finishers Delfino and ICallShotgun going 1-2 in both classes. Delfino extends his points lead in P1, while the P2 Points race is tied through 4 rounds.
Grand Touring categories had GT3Emperor taking polls in both categories (3 total this round), but the races saw Delfino taking the GTS win and with another dominating performance, Drew22 wins GT. The Points for Grand Touring Sport has Drew22 losing 1 point to Delfino, and Drewpyballs OAP duking it out for Grand Touring.

👍 .. Congrats to those on the podiums .

Happy with my results here .. looks like Delfino was one of a few who actually enjoys this track .

{ off topic but ill say it anyway .. the best car ive driven here is the Nissan R390 Road Car .. takes that long right hander .. flat out }

Though he's disappointed with his GT cars they'll still get a run on every track .. but he'll be concentrating on the LM's for the remaining races of the season .

Good Show to all the Drivers....👍 As usual, I appreciate ICallshotgun's hard work and good organization in putting this event together.

Delfino...nice running especially in the Prototype cars. And Oldphart taking a position away from the dominate team in GT class is a big performance. And I don't want to deny Drew22 of his props...good runs!👍 Of course, that applies to the efforts everyone put in.

This was a tough gruelling track for me....and I choose to do 2 stops on all 3 of my races. I guess I just didn't feel like fighting bad tires....so I ran a 5/10 split pit strategy and hoped it would work. Well, so much for that plan.

I've got 2 cars that seem to be pretty difficult on tires in race trim. But the P2 BMW is probably fairly balanced....my only excuse in P2 would be lack of effort and driver skill. :crazy:

I guess all that went right was my chase for the poles.....I'll post those replays as soon as I sort them out on this wacky Sharkport system. Here's the sector splits if anyone wants to make car comparison data.
