I've had a quick run at this with pretty good results. I like this track a lot, but not so much with race cars on soft tires going for a hot lap, much like last round. To get the obligatory questions out of the way, is hitting cones allowed, and is all tarmac considered track regardless of yellow lines? These laps are clean, regardless.

Toyota GT-ONE: 15.343 - 47.202
Ford GT LM Spec II Race Car: 16.928 - 51.353

Both laps are pretty good, with the Ford's being better than the Toyota's. I don't have more than a couple tenths to collect in either case. I'm a little nervous about the race in GTS, because what I found out when I was trying out JGTC NSXes to possibly win the Infineon endurance race (they couldn't) carries over to the GT LM: MR race cars don't like their suspensions being compressed when the track climbs sharply, as happens twice in sector 1 here, and tend to break into a sudden slide. :nervous:

Gave this a try earlier today. Car has some pretty crazy wheel spin on the 2 uphill right handers in T1, and on the double right hander just before T2 :yuck:

Wasnt able to save my time again, but my quickest splits looked something like this:

15.8xx
47.4xx

Not sure how much time there is left to get, but I should be able to find a bit once I figure out the best Top Speed to use that will both be quick and help keep the 3rd (and sometimes 4th) gear wheel spin to a minimum.

First splits...
17.606
52.591

I will only practice this a few more laps... SFGTP5 is next week not sure if I will e able to do the "race" during the week.

All tarmac/ cones are game including outside the yellow lines around turn 7/7a.

^Thank God.

My best clean lap:
16.250 T1
49.464 T2

EDIT:
15.677 T1
48.673 T2

Here's mine so far:

T1 16.111
T2 48.355

Left a good 0.5 in the first sector, but i don't think i'm going to be so close to you two this round.

This is killing me!!! also down the hill after the bridge I tend to loose the back end often :ouch:

I actually managed to use this to my advantage for my hotlaps, although it will be a pain in the race.

I agree that it can be useful in qualifying in the second uphill left, the one just before T1, but it is tricky to work around in the first turn (the fast left) and will definitely require some caution in both places in the race, as you said.

east, at least for me, by far the best way to gear the car was the easiest: redlining in sixth at the fastest point on the track. I could use fourth gear instead of third for the first turn, where it was way better than third; the annoying one right after T1, where it was better if you got the corner right but worse if you overcooked it; and the double right, where I had better luck in third with throttle control because the car was so much more responsive that way. I don't think I'm going to try again to better my times because my splits are looking pretty good in comparison to yours (for now! :scaared:) and I think my last sector is quite good. I have doubts I'll actually end up faster, but I'm still holding out hope.

I usually have my Top speed at 380 as it gives me the best use of 3rd gear, but its too slow for this track, so im putting the Top Speed right down to 320 and just not going to touch 3rd gear at all.

My splits:

15.555
47.127

Looks like your losing a bit of time in T2 somewhere Austin. As for my final sector, it could be better, but im happy enough with it, so I probably wont try this again unless you manage to get back in front of my T2.

Darn it. I knew you'd better your splits, but I wasn't sure by how much; I think you have me beaten because I've started another 24 hour race (for the A-Spec points). My top speed is the same as yours. The time I lost in T2 is partly due to not doing the right turn after T1 very well (but I never do) and partly, I think, to my car - the understeer in the sweeper would make a significant difference. It's also possible that since my line avoided the cones, I lost some time on the exit before T2. But I shouldn't be making excuses - you're just plain faster.

Yeah, I'm losing a lot of time in T2 too. At T1, I'm a little more than a tenth off east, but a full 1 1/2 sec off in T2. I'll go work on it some more.

EDIT: Changed to MT with all aids off.
16.046 - 48.902

I'm losing a lot of time in turn 7 (the double right-hander)

Submitted times. No point in listing T's. Fighting for those non points. LOL.

Times submitted with the following splits:
T1 - 17.728
T2 - 53.569

Crap! I didn't submit in time. :( I forgot until just now, 30 minutes late. I don't expect my times to be accepted, and they probably shouldn't be, but I guess I can hold out a bit of hope that ABud will be very kind and accept them, since these are laps I did on Monday.

This race in should be very interesting. Can't let you fast guys have all the fun.

Yeah, there are a few groups of racers who are very close together. Could be a tight finish.

Great lap Austin. Guess my final sector wasnt as good as I thought, or yours was just that much better 👍

Evidently so. I really didn't think it was good enough to produce that kind of difference at the end, but I bet my car offered more stability in the sweeper and less wheelspin in the hairpin. I know who will win the race, though, regardless of qualifying results.
