Hi guys!

I'd like to hear from all you veterans out there the different known quirks and nuances that the Gran Turismo series brings that could be of interest to a newcomer such as myself when getting started!

I'm pretty new to the series (have played on PS1/2) and have ordered GT6 anniversary edition, the game really looks like it's going to be a blast!

I recently learned, thanks to avens, that one such issue exists when using the clutch pedal. In order to get a successful shift, you need to press the pedal all the way in, which isn't the case in real life.

I thought this might be a great way for veterans of the series to chime in and newcomers to get a little heads up on some of GTs quirks so that we can all have a good understanding of the mechanics and have a more enjoyable experience together!

Thanks, Rick

P.S.
I will be racing on the Fanatec CSR wheel and CSR Elite pedals, any know issues with the hardware would also be greatly appreciated!

The clutch thing isn't true. The higher you are in the powerband, pretty much high end revs, the more you need to depress the clutch. If you are lower/laid back speed, you can get away with about half clutch. While normal racing, you can get away with 3/4 clutch but fully off the throttle!

EDIT: I just noticed your wheel choice, I can't determine if this info is true for you or not but IS true for G27, I'm sure it's the same.

Alright, that's interesting, good info. I'm pretty sure that won't take much getting used to, probably a few mis-shifts now and then but hey, it happens! And yeah, I can't see pedal make playing too big a part in clutch sensitivity, although it could account for some.

I'm using the same wheel and pedals as you. We can compare notes once the game comes out.

The #1 thing I can tell you, as someone new to the series, is do yourself a favor and find an online group or organization that has similar interests and be a part of a GT community. I cannot recommend this enough. The online portion of this game can be a bit like the wild west at times. But if you know people, good people, it transforms the game into a racing experience above and beyond all others. You won't be super fast at first. But you'll begin to learn how to really drive by people who know what they are doing. You will develop good driving habits and you'll make some great friends in the process. I have a few I can recommend. PM me if interested.
