Who else is hanging out for the new Guitar Hero 2 in November???!!!

Just played GH 1 over the weekend and its awesome! Dont know how long the addiction will stay, 30+ songs but still, theres only so many times you could play each song before getting sick of it!!???

Anyway post info as it comes to hand. GH2 looks awesome with only 7 of the 55 songs announced:

1. You Really Got Me -Van Halen
2. Strutter - KISS
3. Who was in my room last night - Butthole Surfers
4. Warpigs - Black Sabbath
5. Arterial Black - Drist
6. Psychobilly Freakout - Reverand Horton Heat
7. YYZ - Rush

New features in GH2 include multiplayer with players alternating between rhythm, lead and bass guitar. Same guitar from GH which is always a bonus!

Hopefully they might get some metallica, pearl jam etc in there.

Last week they announced 3 more tracks:

Motley Crue- Shout at the Devil
Anthrax- Madhouse
Stone Temple Pilots- Trippin' on a Hole in a Paper Heart

Not the STP song I would have picked.

But yeah, I love this game and am definitely looking forward to some new songs to play, I've been playing it since December.

Full track list according to IGN:

Lynyrd Skynyrd - Free Bird

And just in case anyone can't wait, pick up a copy of OPM and play Strutter, You Really Got Me, YYZ, and Shout at the Devil. Or save the $8 and buy the game in a few months.

I think the one that I'm looking forward to and dreading at the same time is Misirlou. Awesome song.

Shout at the Devil? That's it? They so need Kickstart My Heart instead.

Well, I head there were bonus tracks on the 1st, so I'm hoping this isn't the full list.
I played the 1st this weekend at Wal-Mart, and I'm amazed I still know a little about playing the guitar (even though they're buttons).

Im sure the tracklist was meant to be more than 40 tracks so here hoping theres a few still unannounced! Pretty okay lineup though, Im looking forward most to Monkey Wrench - not the hardest guitar song but sounds cool! 👍

I purchased GH 1 for a drunk nights fun. Now I don't even need to be drunk to play. I'm still awaiting the ellusive (To me) 100% note mark.... I've had 99% Grrrr.... Mind you that was on easy. Out of the people I play this game with I am the only person who can do Queens of The Stoneage - No One Knows :D

Another reason why I'm addicted to this game is that I want to eventyually learn the art of Guitar.... I feel that this slightly helps me in that field.

So bring on GH 2

Right on! Despite what other guitarists say (and I can see some saying GH is nothing like playing a guitar), I think just simple timing and some of the off-beat notes in GH will help greatly with the real thing!

I play guitar quite a bit but I wouldnt even say Im half decent on Guitar Hero... so I wonder what that says.....

Here's hoping for another Motley Crue track. :D
I don't know, the first game's bonus tracks weren't from any 'big' bands...

It's sad they didn't put any Metallica in the game again, but Sweet Child O'mine will be sweet to play. I used to play it with real guitars but I haven't touched one for so long I think I'll be better off with the game version. :p

IMO it only means that Guitar Hero is just a game.
I'm totally crap with a real guitar, and never enjoyed it for more than 5 minutes, while I just love the game, and I would have an acceptable level if only I could practice enough.
I'm even managing the Gibson controller in right-handed configuration while being left-handed myself.

Looking forward to GH2 and especially playing bass and guitar with my brothers.

So apparently GH2 was released today to some overseas markets?!?!?!

Let us know of first impressions etc for those of you who get your hands on this!

I'll be picking it up tomorrow if I can find a copy. I don't think it will sell out though.

My buddy just picked it up today. Now that we both have the guitar controllers, I have the feeling that today's gonna be a day of non-stop rocking action.

I got it, I'lk be getting the wireless guitar soon, mine is ghetto rigged with a short in the wire.

WARNING "Six"(bonus track) on expert will make your eyes beeld. No kidding

I've got the game, and I'm about halfway through it on easy (takes time, I know) and thus far I'm liking it a lot. The improvements really show through, but I have to admit that I'm a bit disappointed with some of the music. More info as I get through it...

I dont care toom much about the music choices. I like the bonus tracks because they are songs I've never heard of from bands I've enver heard of. I too am about half way through playing on Hard and so far I only used my start power once. My Guitar goes out too much and it almost ocst me. I've never had to restart any song yet in carrer mode. War pigs was fun to do.
Experts leap in difficulty is much geater in part 2 than in GH1.

Can't wait to try "Misrlou" but I saw i have ways to go...

Got some great bands in there! Two of Australias best (Wolfmother and The Living End)!

I wish they had included "Caveman Rejoice" again, just so I could play it during a GH2 session. Are The Bags back?

An expanded opinion/review:

After getting through the game on easy and more than 3/4 of the way done on Medium, you can definitely see that they identified and addressed many of the problems from the original game. At first I was a bit disappointed in the music selection, but after re-playing most of the songs and gaining the "hidden tracks" that you win in medium mode, I have to say this game rocks...

I love the encore feature, I love the new store, and more than anything I love that the worlds greatest metal band has its own song; DETHKLOK!!!

I love this game. everything about it. I like the music tracks much much better than the first. my favorite songs:

Laid To Rest(Hard)
Jordan(Hard not expert)
Thunderhorse(Hard)
Hanger18(Hard)(thank you practice mode)
WarPigs(hard)

I was going to buy a guitar for this, so I went to redoctane website and saw them selling the SG for 39.99. I proceed to checkout but when I check the shipping fee it's 204.95! WTF? I emailed them about it and the answer I got is they are not ready to ship international and their shipping fees aren't competitive...

I have to buy it from somewhere else now...

The game is rad, for sure. But quite frankly the song selection sucks. There are some good songs in there such as Freebird, Carry On My wayward Son, Shout At The Devil, ect but they also have Message In a Bottle. Why I ask? That song was more out of place than the Sum 41 Track on Guitar Hero 1. There are more bad song ideas there besides mesage in a bottle, but I really don't feel like listing. Also, I think the covers of a couple of the songs didn't turn out very good. Such as Laid To Rest where the singer is completely off of what Randy Blythe can do and Beast And The Harlot sounded a bit off in a couple of places. Now that the negatives are outta the way, I can talk about the positives which honestly overshadow the negatives. The visual effect is much greater, the Hammer on pull of system is alot easier to use, The Bonus songs are ten times more cool than the last game's bonus tracks, more guitars, cooler looking venues, and the ability to play bass (bass is awesome on War Pigs). So yeah. Anyone wanna take a jab at whether or not Stairway will be on the next one? I know it seems a little hard to predict, but Guitar Hero said "They don't really Want You To play Freebird" and they put it on Guitar Hero 2. And On guitar hero is says "Remember, NO STAIRWAY!".. hmmm I wonder...

I got the guitar yesterday. Tested it a bit with Guitar Hero and it's harder than I thought it was going to be, but it's a lot of fun. GH2 will be here soon too. :)

I think the Freebird comment was misunderstood. It said "they're just heckling you." Maybe it was supposed to be like the crowd was being sarcastic after a bad performance.
