Hey i just bought a '93 mazda mx3 gs. ANd it seems to be in perfect condition exept for this small problem at idle. When i hold the brake or let it idle in park after a few seconds the car starts to chug lightly as if something wasn't catching...I'm thinking its either the fuel injectors or my alternator (N) But i have no idea! I do know that there was a recall on the alternators in the '94 model, but amd unsure of the '93...can anyone help me??? thx

OK, yeah it's a very light idle, almost like it is struggleing to keep it at idle. It usually happens after about 5-10 seconds. When driving everything is fine, no noise or anything, it's just when it sits, and on the first start it may be a little stubborn.
Thx AgAin

It could just need a tune-up...most ten year old cars do. ;)

Plugs, wires, cap, rotor...fuel injector cleaner...air and fuel filters...pretty much any of these things can cause stumbling. Start cheap and go up from there. :)

Could be a vacuum leak...do you mean "chug" as in idle hard or low?

It could be a vacuum leak, fuel pump, or any one of the things risingson listed.

There's a lot of MX-3 owners here, including one guy that has 3 or so, I'll ask him when he gets online, he knows all about MX-3s and what can go wrong, moreso than I do.
