Gymkhana contest

Just wondering if anyone would be interested in this idea. I have some decent courses devised on the top gear test track. it would be judged on technique, degree of drifts, and precision around the cones(doughnuts or slalom). Again, this is just an idea, so please give your opinions. I would be glad to teach you my courses, so just let me know.

On topic: I think it could be a good idea if well organized, I havent done too much sliding around in AWD cars but a gymkhana atmosphere could be pretty fun. Actually, I think Im gonna build something up this afternoom and give it a try.

It indeed would be a great idea. Using other peoples cars is also a great idea since you don't have cones available. If you are interested in doing this sort of thing let me know, I sure would give it a try.

I would be happy with 5 people to practice with. After weeks of playing around I have some good set ups. Now i can hit a 3-6 cone slalom and go right into 2-4 tight doughnuts around the next cone. knowing which gears give you power and traction are key. you will need to be in a high power band, but with a low gear ratio. And don't be shy with the hand break...its your best friend.

Would it still be Gymkhana if you used RWD car, because if i was to do it, thats what i would use. But, this is a good idea, maybe PD will get an actual track editor... and then an actual paint pallet, and then an thenanthenanthen...

Gymkhana is in no way limited 2 AWD. I use the sti 07 with a custom tune, but it is open to all car classes. At actual contest there is usually a good mix of cars...including rwd

4 those who posted its only power slides....i think not. "gymkhana" which is a TM name...is total car control. there is a mix of rally, auto cross, power slides, drifting, and general skill in all forms of auto sports. I don't do it because i cant drift(which i can), but i rather enjoy throwing them all into one. Sliding around a cone into a huge sling shot power slide. which you turn into a complete 360, but then you slide around another cone(getting as close as possible) with the best angle. Just my 2 cents
