With the new influx of hacked/ hybrid cars flooding the GT5 scene, it's obviously being discussed here at great lengths. Does the community here think it would be beneficial to post a sticky guiding people to the proper channels?
Such as directing people towards the "Do you think Hybrids are cheating" and the "Do you think Sony/PD should let it slide" threads, and of course the hybrid trading thread in the marketplace.
It's just that we as a community have seen a fair amount of new members join for the purpose of obtaining not just the cars themselves, but the tools needed to be able to do it on their own. And even though most threads about hacked cars end with Admin closing it out stating discussion of how to mod is not allowed, that information isn't on hand to see in any of the sub-forums.
I'm sure the Mods have discussed this at some point, I'm just curious as to what their stand is on things. And what the community feels the forums should/shouldn't be responsible for as far as readily available information.

Why don't you post some links to sources for the tools to make hybrids and see what happens to the thread?

Maybe then you'll know the stance of the moderators.

Why not put links to the likes of the Hybrid Trading thread, and the similar threads maybe have a Hybrid link sticky to show all the noobs and senior members where to put their info/opinions on hybrids instead of making 20 new threads a day.

Noobs who want hybrids don't read stickies.

These days I'm not so sure anyone reads the stickies.. leave alone people who join only for hybrids x.x

^ Based on my seven years of working in customer service, I can tell you that as a general rule, no one ever reads anything important, even if you hang it in their face with flashing lights and noisemakers. :dopey:

@iainoflo85 -- Rayzah is talking about linking people to discussions about the ethics of hybrids, and the one thread where trading is tenuously allowed. Not to the tools to create them.

This is what I've understood his post to be about (and I've not edited it to say what I want) - not just about posting links to the hyrbid trading thread and the hybrid photo thread.

We can't talk about their production, but new members come here looking for that information because this is the top site for GT5 discussion, so it's a fair assumption that information like that should be on here. But it's not, and we can't direct new members to the locations of that information. So that's what made me think this was Rayzah's point - a Catch 22 situation.

So... what Rayzah's saying is...

Hybrid cars can be traded only in one place. Any new thread that opens asking for them is closed. But a link to the hybrid car trading thread is provided. The same doesn't seem to apply for discussion on how to create the cars in the first place. Searching for these other sites/forums is usually hit or miss. Since GTPlanet is a site most people come to for their Gran Turismo info, not having the information and not providing any sort of direction to such information doesn't help anybody.

Is this about right? :scared:

Jordan should put for the registeration thing option which ask this:

Did you join GTP because hybrids? *Noob clicks yes*

"Registeration failed."

That would be nice...

Also, accounts that make "I saw dis rly fast car 2day haow doo i maek my car fast like hiz" threads should be banned instantly.

Really? Because a few of us have been able to find all the relevant info on hybrid creation in about a minute. A search engine (in this case, Google) is only as weak as the query.

Personally, while I'd love a hybrid sticky to direct people to the existing threads, Daan is right: people who join just to beg for them or ask for how to make them, don't read stickies. Though it's worth noting the majority of duplicate threads centre on the opinions about hybrids; they're more common than the new threads that are best merged with the trading thread.

Why would I do that when I know it's outright not open for discussion here? The whole point of this was to have a sticky stating exactly that, 'no discussion of hybrid modding is permitted here'. Pretty sure I made that clear in my first post, when I said "discussion of how to mod is not allowed, that information isn't on hand to see in any of the sub-forums. "

It's in the OP of every thread about hybrids . . .

To Noob: Can you spell Registration? "Registeration Failed"...:sly:
