HAIRPIN curves...

I'm am using the settings based on BryanH's or Cudaman's FC settings. Whenever I enter a hairpin curve, I just slide out and hit the wall or into the dirt. How fast should you enter the corner? I'm talking about that hairpin at Laguna Seca or Apricot Hill and lots of others. If I do make it, i exit at about 10-20 mph...

Also, on Apricot Hill, that big first turn I can brake drift the first half of the turn but the drift goes out the door before I reach that second curve. I enter at about 100 mph and exit BEFORE that second curve at about 40 mph... I just cant slide long enough to reach the second curve! 350hp and sim tires...

these big hairpins in gran turismo aren't easy to do due to their length. its hard getting enough speed to go around one as well as losing enough speed not to hit a wall. might i suggest my r34 settings, i frequently drift the whole hairpin at seca, it has 1000 hp and you can still drift with very grippy tires (the ones one or two levels below super soft work beautifully)

You need to know the curve in and out so that you can drive it (literally) blindfolded.
When entering the turn rock the car real hard from right to left so that you'll be sideways facing the inside of the curve. You can't see anything when sliding until you reach the second curve.
When the car is sideways just hit the throttle to make the drift longer. You need to know exactly how the curve goes.
I used the FC at 320hp and normal gears. I enter on fifth or fourth and exit the second turn on third.

Get sideways 2 seconds before you go through the corner. If this helps, feint drift so that the car can get sideways early. Try to go through the hairpin around 20-30 MPH :)

drifting doesnt mean that you can control your entire corner by drifting. sometimes you need to slow down. i suggest you aren't braking enough hence you fly out during a corner. brake a bit first then enter the corner at lower speeds
