Richard Hammond has been airlifted to hospital following a crash during filming for the Grand Tour. BBC. Clarkson reports that Hammond is "mostly okay". It's understood that the ex Top Gear presenter has fractured his knee.

Grand Tour
Richard Hammond was involved in a serious crash after completing the Hemburg Hill Climb in Switzerland in a Rimac Concept One, an electric super car built in Croatia, during filming for The Grand Tour Season 2 on Amazon Prime, but very fortunately suffered no serious injury

There's footage floating around the web of the moment before the crash and it's not a pretty sight. Glad he didn't suffer any major injuries.

Luckily it was a low speed crash and more of a roll down a grass slope rather than hitting something solid.

Glad he's mostly okay.

Since the car is mot likely loaned, though, the TGT crew will face some debts and/or restrictions, like what happened with the Koenigsegg on Top Gear.

I won't link/post the video here but The Sun (phwoar etc.) has a clip on their website which shows the car approaching a bend (apparently overspeeding) before departing onto its right-hand side.

Having seen the footage it seems either Hammond gave it too much throttle and lost the back end, or was just carrying way too much speed.

As Hammond is ok the video is in the spoiler. It shows the car leaving the road then the burning wreckage.

They should use the on-board footage, and then any aerial stuff, for the Celebrity Brain Crush piece.

Then have James May say, to no-one in particular, 'So does that mean he's not coming on then?'.

If they showed Hammonds much worse dragster crash on TV I'm sure they will show any onboard and camera crew footage of this event at some point in the future.
