Hand Position GT5

This might sound stupid but is anyone else annoyed with where they placed the racers hands in the cockpit mode? IMO they should be at 3 and 9 o'clock, not at 2 and 10 like they teach in Driver's Ed. All the other racing sims (GTR2, LFS, rFactor) have proper hand position in cockpit mode and I think it would be a small distraction when playing GT5. Just want to see if anyone else feels the same way.

I don't guess that though. I don't care either. what I think would be nice is the cross over motion and full 900 degrees in cockpit. Feels like something is missing.

when your moving at high speeds, its almost impossible to do a full turn, half a turn is the max and thats in a modified car.

However, i think they will make full motion steering when its realeased... along with the shifting and other usefull hand motions :D

Although in a slow hairpin cross over or almost cross over turning is how you get around it

I agree, the sucker is holding the wheel like an old lady..

I couldn't care less about the hand's position, but I have to say that it feels a bit unnatural for race spec driving. Maybe it has something to do with the way Yamauchi drives, whenever you see him driving, his hands are always in this position.

What I find annoying is that the virtual wheel doesn't move at the same time you move your real wheel, it has some lag, even GT4's virtual DFP had a bit of lag. They should fix this.

Also, they should implement 900º rotation to the animation, watching onboard replays with this guy barely moving while you were sweating to tears countersteering and stuff is annoying too.

They should add on-the-fly recalibration too, so those cars with say 720º of rotation, those race cars with 540º, or even those 440º or less rotation formulas have propper feel. And of course, the animation should match what you do on your real wheel.

I don't complain too much about the shifting animation, as is very hard to predict when you are going to shift. What I find funny is the way he shifts, he holds the gear stick like a crab lol, pick up the Elise 111r to see what I'm talking about.

hand position aside, where the hack is my dashboard hula doll??? How can anyone drive without one is beyond me. May be I should start a new thread complaining about that.
