Today, or well tomorrow if you're not European or Asian, or Australian(that's a continent, right?) is that special day to show appreciation for the person who bore you, and put up with you for 16-40+ years before you moved out and/or got married. Tell them you love them, show your mother you care, because they certainly care about you, otherwise you wouldn't exist. Hell, even tell the in-laws you love them

What did/will you do for your mother?

I usually go around to her place with some kind of gift. And a card. The card parts not hard - there's so much great talent around in the world it's easy to pick up a real tear jerker. But when it comes to getting her a gift - that's getting tougher by the year.
What do you get someone who's pretty much got everything at some point in her life? Now it's just books and movies since she's into that - and I can always find something new she hasn't seen or read before.

I got my mum an ABBA greatest hits (a poor idea in retrospect) and a 149 piece pink toolkit. Just what every mum wants

Well, I'm on my way to my mum right now... Left my girlfriend's place early so I'll be there in time :P I've got her a new book for Mother's Day, dunno whether she'll like or not.

I usually get her something she mentioned a few weeks or months prior to whatever event there is (birthday, christmas, mother's day), but this time around, she never mentioned anything :indiif: I got her all of the CDs she likes and while she thinks I've develop a brilliant taste when it comes to stuff to decorate her appartment with, there's absolutely no room left for any more of that stuff, as I've been doing that for years now.

So, hopefully, Simon Becket will do the trick ;)

I built my mom a giant message that said "Happy Mothers Day" in Minecraft.

Each letter was 20 blocks high and it was all contained in a massive 60 block tall 150 block wide room made of wood, with the wall behind it containing 5 block wide windows extending to the top of the room. This was in Minecraft classic, so I had unlimited supplies, but all in all it still took 3 hours and 45 minutes.
She doesn't play Minecraft, but she's watched me play before, so she appreciated the work that went into it.

I would post a screen shot, but I wasn't signed in, so I couldn't save it, and I was playing the game through the browser, so Fraps wouldn't work.

EDIT:
Forgot to mention, Happy Mother's Day to mothers world wide.

Happy Mother's Day to all Moms out there and we here at :gtplanet: wish you a fantastic day!

My mom's in the Philippines, and I'm here in Cali, so I won't be able to see her in person, but I'll be shooting her a text at least. Happy mother's day to the best mom in the world!

Happy Mom's Day! Mine is by far the best in the world, although she doesn't quite enjoyed when I rubbed my beardy face to her's.

Taking this moment to wish all Moms around the world a Happy Mother's Day.

Thank you, Moms!!

As for me . . . Getting ready to trundle off to me Mom's for suitable scoldings, laughs, and food.

The mother's day was today(May 12th, usually an annual occasion on the 2nd Sunday from the start of the month) if you live in Japan. :D

I don't know of any mothers on the forum other than Mrs. Famine and Mrs. Mad so Happy Mothers Day to you guys!

And Jack's mum aka me :). Didn't get breakfast in bed, I am sure Jack would have obliged if I stayed in bed til midday but him and his sister did buy me Lord of the Rings Blueray DVD trilogy. Have only been hinting at that for the past year or so.

Good going, Wenders - now if you can only find the time to sit down to the whole tri-logy. ;)

Had a blast at my Mom's. Of course the older she gets, the more dear she is to me. I shudder at the memories of the kind of teen I was. Oh! well. Seems like she only remembers the good parts. I'm a lot more kinder (and understanding) about my own teens because of what I put my Mother through; they are saints compared to me.
That of course will remain my dirty little secret - ssshh.

Mother's Day? I get called a mother:censored: often enough, does that count, do I get a gift?

I spent all weekend doing mother's day crafts with my student but didn't do anything for my ma as she's on the other side of the world. I did send an email.

We let my Mom sleep all day, and I went shopping for her (also I kind of like it), and got her one of those little tubs of premium ice cream, and flowers, card etc.

I bought her a Coca Cola, was respectful and did odd jobs around the house (what she tells me I did anyway)

^ You bought your mum a Coke? Good call. I'd be quite happy with that if I was a mum, as long as it was in a can and not a bottle. Cans FTW.

Got home at 9:30 AM hungover from a party the night before, then took my family out for breakfast. Went home, gave her some chocolates, and had a quick nap, then vacuumed and cleaned the interior of her car, while my brother baked cookies. I finished the interior and he finished the exterior, and we washed the exterior.

Went inside, got my brother to peel and cut up some sweet potatoes while I did homework, then I made pan seared chicken breast (seared in an oiled skillet then finished in the oven), sweet potato puree, and steamed asparagus. I made a quick gravy with the chicken drippings (added flour, milk, and chicken broth). After dinner we watched Canada's Got Talent (urgh) and had cookies and ice cream.

Now to do it all over again in a month for father's day, although maybe with a round of golf instead of cleaning his car :sly:

Glass bottles still beat that in look and taste lol
