Hard to drift cars

I have some trouble finding the right setup to drift with some cars. Especially the RUF RGT is hard, it's so well balanced, to get it sideways is not the problem, but to keep it sideways

And the Lotus Elise also took me a long time to find a decent set-up for, it's very tricky because of it's short wheelbase and MR layout.

Do you guys have any tips and what cars do you find difficult to drift?

P.S. Sorry if this kind of thread has been posted before.

Why haven't you chosen a easier drift cars like Silvias, RX-7, IS200.....etc????

Ruf RGT has lots of traction --> diffult to drift.
Lotus Elise --> It's the king of heavy oversteering. (IMO).

Try a Motorsport Elise.....I was able to get it sideways fully tuned with Medium-Slicks........no problem, just power-over.

I haven't tried the RGT, or I'd give a suggestion there.

i think all cars can drift, but you just have to learn their limit of entering the corners correctly, because some cars you need to go slow to drift and some cars needs to go fast to drift, but thats just my opinion, maybe im wrong about this, but thast how i drift the RUF with SUper soft front and Medium slick back, plus my own settings for the RUF and its hard to drif the RUF, but i manage to do it.

The Impreza LM Editon is unbelievably hard for me to drift, despite its power and light weight. The 4WD system in this car, unlike the Skyline's, is best suited to high grip situations. If anyone knows how to get this car sideways, please tell me.

You turned off your ASM and TCS right? I hate the RUF's, RR cars are wierd as hell to drive.
We have got to stop agreeing like this. RR cars have too much weight in the back causing the car to slide off the track too easily. I wouldn't rcomend drifting RR cars until you have mastered the tuning techniques.;)

i can drift the 911 carrera really well with just added power... no need fo suspension tuning... just likw semi-racing and ur set... and a 1.5 way diff.

RR... its called MR for mid range or mid ship what ever u prefer, and of couse they have more weight in the back, but they can be drifter really easy, just need to know what ur doing

Where did you guys get "range" from? MR = Mid-Rear, as in Mid-engine and Rear-wheel drive. RR = Rear-engine, Rear-wheel drive.

I find FF cars hard to drift.....I'm not too sure how to approach a corner wtih an FF......like, I can get a drift going, but when i counter-steer, it's a very violent nad vicious SNAP back the opposite direction, and quite often ends up in a wall...o_O

it's been done....I've seen well done drift videos here on GTP with the civic type R and the integra type R

it is possible, it's just that it's a lot harder to initiate a drift

I wonder....is that GranDorifto guy still around, making GT3 drift videos?

You're gonna have to tap or hold down the e-brake for FF's and need somewhat precise steering cuz u don't wanna cause too much momentum to make the car REALLY want to slide. Just try not to slam the steering all the way to one side

I started learning drifting in the RX7's and the Silvia's. I'm trying to drift the harder cars for fun, and to learn some more skills :)

I've got the right setup for the Elise now, and the RUF... I'm still looking for a good setup.

By the way, I find that the Mazda RX8 isn't really a good drift car, it hasn't got enough torque and you have to keep it in the red to hold your drift. What do you think about it?

P.S. The MX5/Miata is a nice car to drift, I just love it :D
