Now that's hardcore! Looks like someone bought a front cut from the wreckers

Looks to me like he has just moved the buttons off the shifter up onto the dash. Count them, there is the same amount if you class the d-pad as 4 buttons which it technically is.

Didn't think of that, i just remember seeing similar button layouts for the PC

This was a conversation between the owner of the subject of this thread and yours truly.

I'm sure he won't mind.

Some information regarding his rig.

What specs does your pc have?

2.6 GHZ Core 2 Duo, 2GB ram. 2 x 150GB raptors in raid 0, nVidia 680i M/B and a good power supply, case and dvd burner.

Yes, if you go with SoftTH. You will need a very powerful one (GTX280) and something cheaper (8600GT)

TripleHead2Go Pros:
1) Better FPS.. This may be needed for some lower end systems.
2) The ability to run SLI
3) Can be run with only one video card if needed.

TripleHead2Go Cons:
1) You're stuck to very small monitors if you go 16x10.
2) They really were built for 4x3 monitor resolutions.
3) If you want a 20+ inch 16x10 monitor you're stuck either streching the picture or running in a non-native resolution.

SoftTH Pros:
1) Money can be spent on monitor (or other) instead of TripleHead2Go hardware.
2) You run the resolution you want. Period. Want triple 30's? Ok, no problem.. native resolution.
2) You can mix and match monitor sizes, 4x3, 16x9, 16x10, with either landscape or portrait setups.
3) You can run bezel compensation (on some games) that will compensate for the black bars inbetween monitors.

SoftTH Cons:
1) You cannot run SLI (Some people have gotten 2x SLI with a third card in the third PCI-E 16x slot however).
2) You are limiting your FPS severly, because your running at higher resolutions with only one video card.
3) You are relying on one man, somewhere in europe (kegetys) to keep the software up to date..

Now, in my personal opinion, 4x3 screens are obsolete. I believe in doing things properly.. and in my opinion, 16x9 or 16x10 is a non-negotiable option... So I went out and bought a GTX280 as my main card, a 8400GS as my secondary and I get 75ish FPS at level 3 in iRacing... it looks amazing. I now have a proper 5040x1050 desktop backround, I run a program called "Ultramon" in Vista which makes it just amazing to work in.. I could never go back to a single screen or 4x3 aspect ratio.. Right now as I sit here and type this the triple 22 inch monitors span almost my entire horisontal vision.

Nice, that's how it all started for me, Triple 22's and 4 Xbox 360's with Forza 2.

Gauges are from www.betainnovations.com , They do not work in iRacing yet but i'm hoping that Leo at betainnovations does add them in the future.

It is :)Once you play PC racing sims on the same setup as a GT4/GT5 rig you'll have a very hard time going back.

Yes, it's no problem at all.. I will always help out if I can :)

Hope that helps, if you have any other questions feel free to PM me.
I hope this little conversation gives some readers of this thread some answers for all the questions that pops up in their mind.

Kikie,
Aside from being a good video to show off that cockpit it is even a better video to make you want to go buy a triple screen display setup. It just seems like such a great way to enjoy racing sims.

I think this one of the early impressive triplescreen setups with a dash I had seen.
Although upon further investigating I was disappointed in seeing pictures which showed its quite rough in areas and wasnt actuallyfinished to a high standard.
This is visible below...

Although credit to "wtf" for putting in a good effort, yet its not finished to the quality of say how well "chillicoke" has maintained a very high standard of professional looks.
Also unless hes changed the monitors by not having the monitors all the same for me it just doesnt look right...

Personally I have similar ideas but want a look thats a cross between an arcade machine and this idea.
Although my problem is I havnt the time to get to work on stuff I have bought even though I have a "Cobra" FIA approved seat and 3xPS3 sitting ready.....
Car parts can be got pretty cheap. For instance in the UK on auction sites I have purchased:

2x Suburu Impreza rear spoilers
Saxo Dashboard with rev counter
BMW leather gearstick
Brake pedal sensor
Lexus style rear brake lights

All for about £150

Not sure I will implement the dashboard though, the more I think about it the more "wrong" it will look with a Fanatec sized wheel.
