Apologies if I'm covering familiar ground here but anyone have a fix for the substantial lack of ffb with the Official Xbox 360 wheel with this game?

I have adjusted the default settings etc, cars handle fine, love the game, hell i have it on both consoles now lol but no ffb is distinctly annoying!! :grumpy:

When u say 'new patch' you mean 1.01? (Thought this was just for Legends DLC) or the next anticipated one 1.02?

I haven't tried my Ms wheel as I no longer use it.
I'm sure there are no options for strength only vibration levels.
I think it's a MS wheel general lack of strength, especially compared with a fanatec.
Don't think there's much FF on forza either.
Without a FF level in the game your knackered TBH.
The FF level on the PS version is replaced with a vibration slider

Ok ill wait and hope for 1.02 then, know i certainly prefer the dfgt on the ps3 version, my times are way behind using the ms wheel atm, just makes it even more sense now to get a fanatec wheel for both platforms, any excuse lol...

Spagetti you using controller then or alternative wheel?

Some say that the new patch was only for the DLC.I don't believe this, because when i hit reset on my steering settings after the patch and then applied my old settings i could tell a big difference in how the car felt.

The 2nd part of this patch will fix other things along with other steering issues.

I'm not really sure about the Microsoft wheel, but doesn't it only have a rumble factor(or vibration i should say)instead of feedback?I could be wrong though.

Hi, mate

I'm using the Fanatec with Raudi's settings.
Excellent handling IMHO.

Must remember to power on your console via the console button.
If you power up the console via the wheel the game recognises it as a MS wheel. Hence 270degrees.

Power up the wheel after the console is on and everthings good. Great FF too.

I have played both versions PS/Xbox with Both a G27 and GT2.
The PS version suffers lag input out of the box but users seem to dial it out or atleast find some drivable settings.

The Xbox version never suffered the FF drop off which is supposed to signal loss of grip during hard turns. G27 felt more like it was either off or on. GT2/xbox is more progressive with little lag.

I have since got rid of my PS version so I have no idea how it plays post patch.

Xbox version since the patch suffers no freezes at all.
Interesting to know what patch 2 for xbox fixes. I hope it doesnt break anything.

I remember F1 2010 patch fixing lots but took away some of the excellent pre patch FF. ( no one had moaned about FF why did they mess with it?)

I recently sold my PS3 DFGT set-up and got an MS wheel so I've also tried it on both consoles with both wheels.

I do agree that the MS Wheel lacks FFB power but as mentioned I think it's the wheel rather than the game, as Forza 3 FFB is not that strong either. FFB for both games is there and is very informative for me but just not very strong.

I am hoping for a new MS Wheel for Forza 4 though. Hopefully MS will push the boat out and produce a good DFGT type of wheel.

If they do that and produce a good and cheap DFGT type of wheel Im getting an Xbox an Forza 4 and Im selling my PS3 and GT5

Yeah must admit, for all of what GT5 offers, and there is plenty, it always left me cold where it counted.

Still, as many people are here, I'm waiting to here what Forza 4 has to bring to the party, but to have Shift 2 in the mean time is a big bonus.

Cheers for the replies chaps 👍

Getting accustomed to the MS wheel a bit more now, must say the graphics on the Xbox version look slightly better imo to the PS3, more players online to boot and ive just downloaded the legends dlc - fantastic stuff.

The feel of the lacklustre ffb (or vibration??) is very similiar to Forza 3, which isn't a bad thing at all, liking the feel now and yeah think its the wheel more than the game..

Until Forza 4 rolls up SU2 will be keepin me going just fine, GT5 just doesnt sustain your interest in comparison at all, i could go on and on...Needless to say, as mentioned before, think a Fanatec wheel is the eventual way to go from what Spagetti and co report, just gotta make sure the Mrs doesnt see the price lol..

Out of interest, do any of you guys play the pc race sims ie. iracing, rfactor etc?...thinkin of goin down that road as well..cant get enough lol..

Done a good bit of Rfactor in the past. It is an amazing driving sim that's so adaptable to what your taste is. My only issue was that it was a case of too much choice that I spent most of my time trying new addons and tweaking this and that rather than actually enjoying it. I've always been like that with PC games, spending more time tweaking and fine tuning.

That's why I've left the PC and done the console route as they are what they are and all you can do is have a quick moan about what's wrong with them then just get on and play them.
