Might want to add a bit more information.

Car, Tune, physics mode?

Anyhow you can't just go through turn 1 flat out.

I think it's the F2007. You can try going flat out in, then lifting off midway and brushing the rumbles on the outside.

On GT4, i go through the light part of turn 1 at full speed sometimes and brake after for the sharp part of that corner. (not sure whether to call that 2 different corners or not)

Are we talking the Turn 1 - Turn 2 combo?

Unless you're driving a car that can't get over 160 km/h, you can't go flat out there. You can maximize your entry speed by lifting off early and trimming your line, that way you won't have to brake so much for Turn 1 and concentrate on braking and setting up for Turn 2.

I can go flat through turn 1 in F2007, but you need to brake in between turn 1 and 2. For me that is on S2 tyres in time trial, on R3's you barely have to brake through there, just feathering the throttle and brake normally does the trick.:)
