Has anyone ever tried this?

Playing GT6 in 480p.

I tested it on the 24 Hours of Le Mans and cockpit view was running at 60fps. Occasional drops but nothing too severe. Game was very smooth and the course conditions didn't seem to affect the frame rate as much as it does on 1080p/i.

You'll keep a bit more graphical fidelity if you drop it down to 720 instead.



(It's got me wondering about keeping a couple of wheels in the dirt to drop the frame rate for any dirty drivers behind me though.)

I always advise of keeping the PS3 to 720p. The scaler makes everything so blurry (when the game supports it, many games simply drop to 720p anyway) and the XMB is hard to read with these minuscule fonts...
