Have any of you used Gunnar glasses????

I recently bought it specifically for GT5. Supposedly its gonna help seeing things much clearer. I bought it from a website that sells it cheaper than any other site or store I researched, www.sunglassesla.com. I should be getting it this week.

Does anyone have it? Do you like it???

I don't understand what they're supposed to help you see better in GT5?

They are suppose to reduce eye-strain by using tinted lenses.

The reality is they are just a huge gimmick because you can just adjust the color settings on your display to fix these problems. Their argument relates to using contrast lenses in the real world, which work by usually blocking diffracted blue light. However, like I said, you can just adjust a display. Most are set to a hilariously bright setting by default and a bit too blue, which makes them pop out at stores a bit more, but also burns your retinas out over time :indiff:

to me, they are a way to make money for MLG'ers. its like when an athlete does a commercial about how certain sneakers make you jump higher. console players havent licensed out too many peripherals yet so this gives them something to make money on. 99 out of 100 kids that own gunnars play COD 4 hours plus per day.

As others, I find it a rip-off when you can just adjust the settings of your TV or monitor. They could be useful when you are playing GT5 on a friend's TV where you won't need to tinker with the TV.

They supposedly make colors jump out more and give a deeper sensation to the screen per ISR. I mean if they work and they may do better than any TV adjustments and you want less eye strain I don't think their a gimmick, that's an opinion, but they're a tool if they really work well tho, though tweaking settings may indeed the same result, still may be a nice pick up if they work well.

"Hey, thanks for invinting me around to play GT5. Should be a fun day.... GAH!!! MY EYES!!!! IT BURNS, THE LIGHT IT BURNS!!!! [reaches into pocket and puts on Gunnar glasses] Yeah, should be a fun day."

HAHAHAHA thats too funny!!!!

Well I ordered my already and waiting for it. When it comes Ill let all you know how it works...

yes you can change settings on your tv, however I tried them on at store and looked at the tv screen and I don't know how I can make it look so bright and colorful like that!!!! So when I saw the cheap on that site, I bought them

Anyhow I'll put my 2 cents on here when I get them.

lakersfreak let us know if the glasses kind of make you perceive your TV colors and all in almost a deeper, 3 dimensional kind of way, which is an aspect ISR said they did. I mean if you want to keep your colors as is on your screen and have a set of glasses that make colors look richer and reduce eyestrain, I mean yeah has pot. to be a worthy investment.

Hi all, I've been using Gunnars for three weeks now for work and gaming. I'm a network engineer and spend between 5 to 9+ hours a weekday on a 30" Apple cinedisplay and 3+ hours anytime I'm free to play GT5 on a 27" Samsung LCD monitor. I'm glad I bought my gunnars as they have helped me with eye fatigue due to work or gaming longer than 3 hours.

I have the Edge frames. Fortunately there was an optometrist in town that sells them so I could try the different frames. The next closest location is Orlando which is a couple hours away from me.

There is a slight magnification to the glasses and a yellow tint which takes maybe 3 minutes to get used to initially. If I don't use the glasses I can actually feel the light emissions coming off the screen and to my face... it's weird. Btw, I'm 20/20, but they do prescription if you need it. Also, a couple of my co-workers are getting gunnars after I let them try mine for a bit. If I know I'll only be on the computer for less than 30 minutes I usually don't use them, but if I know I'll be on longer, I'll use them.

On a side note, I recommend the Edge frames ($119). I first had the Wi-Five frames ($79), but the rims kept distracting me, so then I opted for rimless frames. I'm considering getting the Stylus frames for work and keeping the Edge frames for home gaming. Hope this helps anyone considering getting Gunnars. I was skeptical at first, but after first-hand use, I'm glad I purchased them 👍

Cool at least someone is happy about them!!!! I can't wait for mine. I'm just glad I found a site that sells them for cheap. Was looking for some time now. I bought the Weezer ones of the site. So edge is best? sunglassesla has them for $105...Wonder if I can exchange them?

Edge frames just turned out better for me. I was looking at the Weezer frames too online, but they didn't have them for me to try at the optometrist. The lens on the Weezer look bigger compared to the Wi-Fives too. The Weezers'll probably turn out great for you. It's all preference really :)

I was watching a sports optometrist detailing how this works recently. There is fact behind their claims...BUT...this eye guy was saying that to get the best results they test a variety of colours as some individuals may see better with a green, pink or any other colour tint.

I'd suggest they may work for some and not for others depending on individuals' eyes.
