Like the thread title says. I found this thread, which is more related to nightmares...interesting read anyways, but I am more interested in percentages. Share your dream experiences if you like. An interesting movie as it relates to dreams and other consciousness' is "A Waking Life".
Anyways, I would go on to say that Yes, I have died in a dream and actually had an out of body experience and conscious realization of my own death. It was weird. The dream starts off with me be being chased by some thugs. Running on foot I come across a circa 1976 station wagon full of nuns. As most dreams skip some details, we were all of a sudden cruising down this dirt road with three nuns in the back and now my good friend in the passenger seat. We continued to be chased by the thugs, now in cars down this dirt road until we ran out of road. We all got out where I noticed we were actually standing next to a huge canyon, like the Grand Canyon. There was a large tree that was fallen across the expansion. I started to head across the tree with my friend and the nuns to follow. Half way across the canyon, the tree broke. The next moment I was on the ground looking up as my friend was falling and was simply absorbed by the ground, disappearing from my sight. The same followed with the nuns. Hearing a commotion behind be I turn around and see a crowd of people pointing my direction. I start walking towards them asking questions, trying to get someones attention with no success. I then see my friend who was in the car with me at the back of the crowd. I call to him and hears me and comes over. With some short dialog, we both conclude that no one can see or hear us, and it was at that moment we both came to the same conclusion that we were dead and the crowd of people were actually looking at the spot where we had fallen.
You know, in movies and urban legend would have you believe that if you die in your dreams, then you die in real life. That wasn't the case for me. Shortly after my realization in the dream that we had died, I woke. I wasn't scared, but it was almost just a surreal sense of awareness or peace. It was odd.
So, that's my story.... Anyone else?
