Have you ever driven in GT5 vs real life car?

xbox is a joke
For example have you ever driven a car on track and also driven the same spec'd car in GT5 using a rig/wheel??
if so how big of a difference was there?
I've never driven a car to it's max, but always had this question in my mind.

Yes and colossal.

The most obvious differences are the tyres (GT5's tyres are either too sticky or too snappy - or both), the confidence (find the pause button in a real car) and the entire sense of motion. In a real car, every part of your body is a point of interaction, not just your feet, hands eyes and ears like in a game - any game.

^that and the sound is waaay different plus the way the steering wheel behaves when there is oversteer (It doesn't just rotate back to the center by itself)
EDIT: the traction loss us more progressive in GT5 as well, it's all more forgiving.

Merciealago (think I spelt that wrong)

Surprisingly similar, dint get chance to push the car that much but the acceleration and corner stability seemed to have been carried over to the game.

I tried building both my Camaro and my Mazdaspeed 6 in GT5. The Camaro I felt was extremely accurate with the wheel with traction loss and turn in and slides coming out. The MS6 on the other hand, being a FWD biased car with a max of 50/50 tq split cannot be accurately replicated in the game and handles totally different

The slow rotation of my 06 GTO vs the Manaros they have in GT5 was similar. The reactions, the speed of rotation, and ease of holding it were spot on. Brake and tire feel, though, not the same at all.

I track my GTR quite regularly and the sense of stability it has in the game is carried over. The sensation of speed isnt there so its beyond that its hard to compare. I will say the way it reacts to oversteer correction and 4 wheel drifts similar in real life and the game. So GT really does have good physics in that department as ive improved a lot in the real world from hours in my GT5 cockpit.

When I play and get in that zone and start making corrections and catching the rear end without even thinking about it I find myself doing the same movements as a reflex in real life. Ive had people ask me if i drive karts because they've noticed all my inputs are really quick and sudden and I tell them it comes from playing GT5
