Heel-Toe?

What is it used for?
I know how to do it(mentally) but WHEN do i use it?
after all the braking? the entire corner?
what does Heel-Toe exactly help with?

The reason you heel-toe is to rev match your down shifts well you are braking. If you have finished braking, you'd just be rev matching.

DONT BOTHER IN THIS GAME the clutch is FAKE AS HELL so there is no point to heel toe unless you wana PRETEND LOL

dont bother with the clutch till they fix it its pointless and very stupid

...... you can practice your heel/toe for your real car, or simply practice it for other game, you cant rev match in GT5P, but the physic aspect of doing it with your leg can be good thing to practice/learn, pretend to not doing it because it dont work as real, for me, this is stupid.......

When i play GT5P, i try to play it as real as im driving my real car.....

The heel-toe does help in gt5p. Not really needed for drifting so much, but for racing it does help keep the car stable under braking and entering turns. Once i started heel-toe i was EASILY able to beat the S10 Race i was having trouble with.

The clutch DOES work, but not in a way most would hope. You can clutch kick (in same gear) which helps on some lower-hp cars. I tested it, you can actually ride the clutch, but the range is soo small and hard to notice, it doesn't even matter. I got into the integra-R, pinned the rpm at redline, put into first gear and SLOWLY (super-duper slow) released the clutch and it did partially engage as if i were RIDING the clutch. The rpm slowly started dropping as the car slowly started rolling. Now the range is so small it's not even worth learning but it is there. And there is no force feedback in the pedals to feel the catch point.

I agree they better fix the up-shifting with lots of wheel spin, that's just retarded. Implement engine/drive-train damage but dont take away from the realistic characteristics of a Clutch.

exactally but just because you can SLIP the clutch does NOT mean that the clutch works in any way shape or form as realistic as it should be.

we all know that you can SLIP the clutch from a start. The issue here is that untill the clutch works as it would in real life there is no point to heal toe while drifting much less no real reason to use the clutch for drifting at all. Just as you stated u can do clutch kicks but the positive effect you get from this is SO SMALL that its not even worth the extra effort.

I will boycott the clutch physics untill they are fixed because lets face it what ever the gt5 gripers complain about they usually get like these joke of an events we have now. So by complaining about the clutch every time i see a post about it HOPEFULLY someone from pd takes time out of there busy sleeping scedual to read this and figure out that there clutch IS WAY OFF

I like the clutch in GT5P and always use it, but yes it is flawed, I have mentioned it many times in the GT5P and GT5 main forums. I don't mind people complaining about it as hopefully Sony/PD fix it.

Yes you can slip it as you say but it such a short range and required delicate touch no one bothers, Heel toe doe stabilise the car in corner entry more effectively when ABS is off, ABS in GT5P seems to stablise the car a lot even if you attempt to compression lock.

In drifting I actually use compression lock a bit on the entry to first corner of Eiger, it does work with a bit of feint to assist it.

The getting stuck in neutral when shifting during wheelspin (while still lifting throttle) is appauling, even if PD doesn't allow power/flat shifting please remove the neutral (bug) during wheelspin.

Yes there has to be a way for them to enable it durring drifting, or when you have "wheel spin" not gripping which is why they stopped it.

I think it makes NO SENSE AT ALL to limit the people who paid 250-300.00 for a wheel/shifter/pedals to be used and then they stop you from utilizing it's potential. Add damage or give the controller users a boost. Just don't take away from the experience of those who DID spend the money for it. :banghead:

Perfect example. I was drifting around Eidger Reverse yesterday and entering the final turn (right before the finish of the regular route) it starts off sharp, and widens out and extends as you get to the other end, It would have been perfect to start that turn/corner in 2nd and then 1/2 way through be able to UP-shift into 3rd to gain more momentum/speed to easily clear the turn and use the line I want to take, but no. I couldn't due to the stupid neutral lock. :grumpy:

i hear ya bro !!
i get the exact same problem in that exact section of the track, so now i just go in a bit faster n wider and screm the frigin nuts of in second gear.

plz fix the clutch plzzzzzzzzzzz!!

so then its not only me who has that problem with the gears poping in...

tell me guys, how is it for you, when your standing still, then accelerating in 1st and then shift to 2nd. So many times i cant shift into 2nd because the gear just wont pop in, all the other gears are fine, just 2nd and 3rd cause me problems...

The game doesn't allow you to Up-Shift with any type of wheel-spin (drifting). Also you can't really be on the throttle at all when up-shifting or it registers as a miss-shift. They are trying to prevent people from power-shifting (up-shifting without lifting OFF the throttle). So in the heat of racing if you aren't careful you can easily miss-shift if you don't lift off the throttle between gears. :grumpy: some people say you can have a little bit of throttle applied but in my experience i just totally lift off the throttle between shifts. Very annoying and you have to get used to it. Most of my friends/brother when enabling the clutch need to take some time getting used to being off the throttle between gears, which in a real car is utter stupidity, so PD please change this ridiculous miss-shifting problem.
