Heh....a little something PD did with the cars that are in your favorites.

Just made this discovery. It appears that cars that belong with to your favorites end up dealing with tougher AI as time progresses. One minute, I'm racing with the Subaru Prodrive style, and my foes are NSX's, skylines, Lancers, and RX-7's. After a few races....whoa what the heck happened here? It appears that despite the fact that I'm still racing with S3s, my foes are now containing Suzuki GSX/4s Lotus Espirits, TVR Cerberas, and TVR tamoras. I didn't even touch the tires at all just to remind anyone. They were still on S3s.
Then I decided to race with R3s and then BAM! Cizetas and GT-Rs!

Then came the Lancia stratos rally car. My foes were always Deltas, Xsaras, and subarus. Now, I get those 350hp peugeots, Lancer Super rally cars, and that renault maxi turbo rally car. Its giving me a tough time winning now. But, when I took the STRATOS off the favorites lists, my foes returned to normal. No more renaults and Super rally cars.

Gee wilikers! (I never thought I'd said that). I guess PD decided to put more of a challenge towards the car you love huh?

That is interesting.

Because GTpsp has so many cars I like to have an updated list of favourites.

This morning I tried the LP400 (not in my favourites). I won easily on S class in New York using S3 tyres.

I will add the LP400 to my favourites and see if I can win as easily again.

If this theory is correct then why after 100s of grinding sessions at the test track are my opponents still unchanged and the winning times still constant ? (Pescarolo Hybride in fav car list v Escudos).

i drive only 2 cars (they are in my fav. list) and can say that opponents didnt change over time. they change if your exit track and then enter again, but by default they are the same all time.

but yes, they adopts to your skill during race - better you are - harder they are. if you drive bad, they never try hard

Gtpsp has adaptive ai but i dont think it will change according to your favorites.it depends on how fast (or slow) you are.If you are good at certain track the ai will follow you faster or beat you if you are not good with that track. "A" difficulty is my benchmark .its the closest thing to my normal driving skill.I mean if i have a good racing line i can beat ai's easyly but on some tracks i m having hard times. On "S" ai uses better tires and show no mercy.you dont have much error margin.
You can adjust difficulty to yourself .do a time trial on a track.than race it on "A" check the ai lap times.if they are better than you ,try another track .the ai has limits but they can improve times if you drive faster.and there is pysics situation.on standard its much easy to pass them because you control your car better ,better handling and huge brake power boost.in simulation cards are on the table :)

hardtofind is spot on... it has nothing to do with your favorites and everything to do with the AI level on that track.

If it takes some time, how can you be sure that it's adding the car to your favourites that does it?

I removed it from my favorites list, then, put it back into my favorites. Then my foes where back to being 276hp cars. The same was tested on my R92CP. Its on my favorites, I gave it R3's, then raced thoses Escudos for quite some time. Later, I got pinned with Ferrari F2007s. I removed it from the favorites, then put it back. My foes were back to escudos when I equipped it with R3s. (Now would be a good time for me to get a new camera phone to show to people. Sadly, mine fell in the lake. :nervous:)

Edit: Bravo Hardtofind!
