Hello all!

Hi, I'm new here and I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to introduce myself, but this is the part of the forum I am browsing the most, drifting of course.

I am so addicted to this part of the game I'm on it more than the racing, haven't done the drfiting on gt4 and haven't even played any gt since a spec on the ps2, but this game is just so good and can't stop.

Anyway the question I want to ask is - is it really worth buying a wheel for GT solely for drifting? If so what model shall I go for? How much better is the feel of the car? I think good on the game all golds on all events so is it worth stumping out the cash?

My final question is (and I know I'm probably boring you all by now) Is rank 13 any good with a pad? Thats with the m3 and I'm in top twenty with various Ferraris and the Tuscan (standard physics) basically I want to know that if I'm gonna fork out 100 plus pounds, will it get me the odd extra 500-1000 points or will there be a vast improvement

My psn is pesmandb10 btw if anyone wants to add me.

I think drifting with a wheel may increase your score slightly but the main thing will be the pure enjoyment youll get about it and more realistic wheel of drifting the car... i dont have a wheel but this is what has been seen before... i dying to get a wheel so i can properly drive my cars instead of clicking them, if you know what i mean.

Exactly,
it's pure fun with a good wheel. I have a Driving Force Pro from Logitech, while the wheel itself is pretty good, it's rather bad for drifting. I would advise you the replacement of my wheel, it's the Driving Force GT, again from Logitech of course, I heard it is noticeably better especially for drifting (was kinda developped especially for GT5 so to say). But there are even better wheels, which of course are even more expensive, namely the G25 from Logitech again and the Porsche Race Wheel (don't know the manufacturer).
Believe me it's totaly worth it, I was blown away by my first wheel when I used it first with GT 3 (back then it was the driving force or so).
And btw.-welcome to gtplanet-it's a great side. 👍

When it comes to wheels, only a handful are good enough for GT5. I bought a Logitech Formula something. It's a 180 degree wheel with good feedback. But it's not good enough for GT5P. Recommended wheels are about what Alex p. posted above. Of course the G25 is the Ferrari of wheels, get that if you can.

It depends on what car track combo. The M3 is usually a popular car, but people like to use it on certain tracks only. If it's a well used track like Eiger, that's pretty good.

I'm not to good at drifting, but I managed to score top placing in the world as I chose the RX8 in london reverse - apparently a non used combo:lol:
