Welcome to the site Ayumi!

If the car hits the outer wall it means you gave it too much gas. The effect isn't immediate though, so if you hit the wall, then you probably gave it too much gas about two or three seconds before you hit. If the car stops half-way through, or hits the inside wall, then you probably weren't going fast enough when you went into the corner or didn't give it enough gas.

Simulation tires might help you a little but you have to go a LOT slower on those. It takes a lot more reserve. Personally, I'd rather just mash on the gas pedal and see where it puts me ;) Rally style!

Oh yeah, almost forgot, that the things I described apply to drifting in an AWD car only. And I'm also assuming that your car is good and sideways (the way it should be!). If it's FR or MR, then it's a whole different ball game. In fact, I would recommend learning on an FR, then learning other types of cars later. But you can learn them in any order.

If you want to try FR, check out my site for some good tips:

Try countersteering so you can get the tail out towards the outside wall. Try balancing between the throttle and the countersteer.

If you are oversteering, throttle > countersteer and
If you are understeering, countersteer > throttle

If you're slamming in to the wall at high speeds then you're going too fast. I use a combination of two drift techniques when I use 4wd cars..on a left hand turn I feint to the right, then back to the left and tap the brakes..that'll usually get the back end around pretty easily. Once sideways, 4wd cars are pretty easy to keep that way hehe just floor it (though sometimes you may have to feather the throttle..but usually I just have to floor it hehe) and countersteer IF needed. If you're going into a corner really fast you can always just do a braking drift and that'll slow you down..just takes practice. That's what I do and it works for me...it may not work for everybody though.

any fr car that would be good for someone that is not too good at it i tryed the 86 but i just spin out every time and the fc3s is the same thing what do you guys think i should i use

thnx Thio but they dont work on Sheron FD RS how did he get 706 hp i maxed it out and its only 655

ill trying ueing the fd then ill move along and try supra

Be careful on the Supra though, it's very tail happy if you floor the pedal too hard. Just hold the throttle light enough so it can oversteer and not spin out.

Sheron kept on driving his car and changing his oil. After like 100 miles on it, the horsepower increases when you change the oil every so often.

You must not give up... the 86 nad fc are good cars because they teach you the dangers of light fr cars... they are probably the best to develop skills on...

yeah..i see a lot of sherons settings with different tire compounds mounted front to back, makes drifting a breeze.(but that doesn't make it right)

i like the fd setting i can useing it really well and not hitting the walls as much but it has alot of power and kinda fast the vid that you try to put up thio dont work just let you know and thnx guys this is helping out alot and the 86 and fc are good cars but i cant really drive them at all so ill try when i get better

meh..I don't see any problem with it, I personally hate driving with different tires up front than in the back..it just drives weird..but you see lots of amateurs do that in RL. They have nice wheels and tires up front and some stock 15" crappy wheels and tires in the back. When I use Sheron's settings, I usually change the tires anyway..it'll say Supersoft-Soft and I'll use Slick or Superslick hehe..I just think the settings themselves are good to start with.

The reason they do it in real life is because it's cheaper. Anyone who can afford it buys identical tires on all four wheels (except different widths of course).

usually..yeah, they do it because it's cheaper..but what difference does it make why they do it? It's not like you can call it "Cheating" or something because they have different tires up front than in the back...in the end they're probably handicapping themself.

Thio i saw the vid and that was a crazy inerta drfit i was wondering what are the settings on that supra i play on that tokyo map and ss5 (lil bro beat the game) and it fun but i cant take the U turn on ss5 and cant take the 90* turn on tokyo

for better u should learn feint first than no prob to do the rest ...
feint - before corner u swing your cars than control the speed then swing again ...i loved to do that at midfield ( the best track to start ) ...before u reach the corner at tunnel ...trr it ...ok :)
