I found this site through some posts on the Playstation forums. I was reading around on there and found a lot of people mentioned this site.
I'm fairly new to Gran Turismo. I played way back in the day with GT2, but I haven't played any of the games since then (regrettably). I pre-ordered Gran Turismo 5 because it just looked so good and I was sure it would be the racing game I needed to bring me back to the genre. I'm not a huge fan of arcade racers, and I've always wanted a good sim to play. I'd prefer to drive a realistic car in a realistic race than have a Honda Civic with Nitrous and a dragon painted across the hood that can go 250mph and pull a 90 degree turn like in a lot of the other racing games out there.
I do use a racing wheel. I purchased the Logitech Driving Force GT which I find to be worth every cent. It really added to the experience of the game.
Cars and racing are big in my family. My father has always been big on restoring cars and drag racing, so my whole life I've been going to the strip or to a show. Outside of this, my hobbies include playing guitar in a band and wasting countless hours of my life on a little game known as World of Warcraft (It's like crack.).
Coming to this site I was hoping for two things really. One, people to talk to about a game I'm passionate about. And two, finding other clean racers to play with. All my real life friends won't play anything that doesn't start in "Call of Duty", and I've found that joining races with random people in the open lobby is less than enjoyable. Too often do the people in the random races I join feel like the same people that made me hate FPS games. I'm hoping that by meeting people here, I can find a group of people to race with that, win or lose, we have a good time just racing.
Anyways, I'm glad to have found this site. Like I said, I'm still a noob to Gran Turismo, but I'm looking forward to meeting a lot of other people who enjoy the game too.![Smile :) :)](/wp-content/themes/gtp16/images/smilies/smile.svg?v=3)
