Hi folks,

despite being a wheel user for a long time, I have never fully adjusted the wheel setting. I haven't synced the wheel to a computer before or used in-depth settings. Could someone kindly offer advice on this? I am currently using the Thrustmaster T300 GTE

I'm also currently looking to seek the fastest laps possible with the Mercedes C Class AMG (DTM). What are the optimum settings for the car, and are these settings allowed in time trial leadeeboards?

Thanks for reading :)

Friend I have about 20 hours in this game just trying to find a better configuration of force feedback to the T300 in the PS4, and sincerely advise you, go enjoy the game, the Standard settings are good enough. Differences exist, but in my view are insignificant, you change something and realizes slightly a difference, but do not know whether for better or worse, just different.

That's how I feel. My laptimes are very similar despite the changes made. I'm trying to progress up the time trial leaderboards but I have no idea how the fastest guys achieve their unbeatable laptimes

First I agree that you should go on the game and enjoy it. But if you are looking for the best from your wheel I would suggest that you update the firmware if you have access to a PC. There have been some people reporting issues with oler firmware.

Second, have a look in the help section right here on GT Planet and find the force feedback settings. There are loads of them, some of them do make a difference to how the "car" feels, some not so much.

Third, make sure you know how to change the amount of rotation between all the settings. I find that some cars drive better with a lower rotation angle some with a higher roatation angle.

There is another discussion over here : https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/does-altering-ffb-settings-really-make-a-difference.332953/

And here are the most commonly used FFB settings: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...tings-an-android-app-updated-to-1-6-1.329605/

I hope this helps.

I have spent a lot of time trying to setup the T300 for pCARS on the PS4, but finally managed to find settings that make me happy. Do try them. At least they will give you a good starting point for further tweaking.

Set the FFB in game to 100%

Set the tire force to 50-60%

Use the general settings and per-car settings from this link - http://pcars.oscarolim.pt/
Personally I use the Classic settings, but leave the SoP ones at 0, because I don’t want to feel weight transfer through the wheel. Of course many people prefer it the other way around.

.:EDIT:.

After checking the values and description of the Classic settings I would try and suggest that you don’t leave them at 0, since there are no lateral forces.

After a bit of testing I stand by my first statement, that SoP scales should be left at 0%. Those kind of effects/feedback should be disabled, if you are looking for realistic feedback. Sorry for the double post.

Gonna give it a try thanks

I found some useful information recently at this link. I tried out a few of their settings and the difference is very easy to feel. The lite feeling wheel will take some getting use to, however the feel and information you receive from a lite wheel as compared to a heavy wheel, (heavy wheel =Force Feedback 100 and Tire Force greater than 80,) has to be tried to be believed.

Took me about 7 - 10 laps to get comfortable. My Tire Force use to be 84, I was thinking the harder to turn the wheel the more I was feeling and could drive better. How wrong was I. I have mine now at 55 and will probably go lower as I adjust some other factors. A work in progress. posted on another thread by accident.

I don't understand most peoples' preference for such heavy wheels. I have never driven a car that has power steering that takes such effort to turn the wheel. My tyre force is about 60 and ffb about the same. I always seek a realistic feel, not one that is necessarily going to give me the best lap time.

Don’t understand that either. Lots of people think that FFB is not realistic if it doesn’t break your wheel or arms. It is true that racing cars do have heavy wheels, but those forces cannot be reproduced by your standard FFB wheel. The powerful DD wheels may be able to do that, but your typical G27/T300/500/TX will start clipping way before that. So the general goal should be to tweak the forces, so that you feel all the effects without clipping.

That’s why I use and recommend tire force at 50-60%. Global FFB should be set to 100% as recommended in the Jack Spades’ settings, to enable to full dynamic range of the FFB. And as I said in the previous post, the SoP scales should be left at 0%, because they add effects that are not feedback from the front tires. That is strictly for the PS4+T300+pCARS combo, although the general principle stands for other racing games too.

FFB is person preffernce and I like the SOP feel and from what i have most people do. I can feel what the back end is doing and still feel the front end , maybe its just different FFB setting that work for me

Of course FFB is all a matter of personal preference and do please use whatever makes you happy. My point here was suggesting the OP some settings for T300 on the PS4 and at the same time giving some explanation on why I think what I think. At the very lest you or anyone that reads this thread may get some ideas and improve their feeling.

"improve their feeling" you are saying that your way is the right way . I have tried no SOP and in my opion and what feels best for me is using SOP

See the difference

Oh please, I’m not preaching anything here. By improving I mean in general. As you can see I suggested other things than the SoP at 0%, but somehow you decided to claw to this. Whatever, this is just my opinion and no one is forcing you to use any settings that I use.

Thanks for your help guys. I'm trying to get a faster lap at Willow Springs in the Mercedes DTM. Does anyone know a good setup? I'm currently hitting 1:09.0

I couldn't get much lower than 1:10 myself after a couple of hours tuning. I lowered the ride height too much though as I could hear bottoming out a bit. Didn't end up doing the playstation tournament thing in the end.
