I can only manage a bronze. 1:18.2xx is my best. What's the secret? I'm nowhere near the 1:15 I need for gold.

How do you drive the winding path?

Hm.. I think I got a bronze on this one as well... But I am not trying for gold since US copy is coming out in two months. Maybe you should wait for that? What if it takes you 5 hours to get GOLD and then once you get the EURO or US copy you will get silver and can't get any better? Do Finish up other races :) or just enjoy the game till prologue US or Euro version will come out.. thats what I am doing

Thanks. I will get the U.S. version. It's not just "gold" I want. I want the skill to be able to get gold on Eiger whenever I want. When the U.S. version I want to breeze through all the missions I had gold in.

If you get gold by a lucky a lap it's not quite as satisfying as mastering the course :D

Races in prologue are not taking into account if you set professional physics and that's pretty bad system. In many of them gold is simply untouchable thing. You'll see in A and S class races, it's just bloody hunt even in beginner physics mode.

Whole game system, times to win and races overall are set this time again pretty synthetic, it has nothing to do with average player skill. It's the same thing that was very annoying in GT4, because fair, balanced and entertaining races were very hard to find, it was even straightforward win or be doomed to lose.

Every single race must be tested by many players and if not, GT5 will be just another car show and no good game, no fun. In GT4 I reached 67% and from that point, nothing made me progress further. Every time I ran the game, I selected RUF CTR Yellowbird and beated Nürburgring till night.

When I read this thread I thought It was about a supersonic bomber. Then I remembered that's the B-1 Lancer.

Yeah, It's basically a "keep-working-at-it" thing. If you want to do well, then keep working to become a better driver.

I think they actually have the difficulty right in GT5:P. I was playing some earlier today and had some really good, close races. Then I popped in GT4 for a while and got my ass kicked. Although the AI isn't perfect, it's gotten better and it shows.
