ok, so on the replay after the race my car will get around a few turns and then just start driving itself. it stops, then goes a little and then switches between gas a brake before heading for a wall to get stuck on, deffinetly not what i just drove. it's like the ai is driving my car in the replay, and has been drinking, a lot. this has happened in every single replay i've done so far, although it starts acting up at different times in the lap, which just like the driving itself appear to be completely random. i tried re-downloading it and installing even though there was no good reason to think it would do anything, and there was no change. hopefully it's just a glitch and they'll fix it. is anyone else having this problem? any ideas or suggestions?

It might be a wireless issue. Try playing with your controller plugged in. Just a thought.

just want to clarify, this is happening in the replay and not the actual race. that is the part that is strange, it should be just replaying what was just done but it looks to be thinking for itself. i see people have been posting videos of replays so i guess most people are not having this problem.

hahaha...... yep that happened to me once during a replay!!!! half way through the race it headed of track into a grassy area and just sat there nudging the wall ;) guess it's a glitch that will rear it's ugly head every now and then.......

I had this same issue back in the GT4! Didn't happen to me in the GT5 prologue yet, and I hope it won't. lol
I say try using another controller to fix this issue or try to reset the controllers! This should fix the problem.

That's the kind of stuff that happens when you use some sort of cheat (power, grip, whatever) on GT4, don't know the reason why it's happening on your demo though.

If it is related to the issue people have received in GT4, then I'm curious - what physics modes were you using? If it happened on Acrade physics, then it might be something PD haven't fixed yet as it's a tweak of the GT4 engine. If it was happening on Simulation, then odd...

hmmm, i have been using the default physics, but i'll try the pro. i will also try turning the controller off and then back on once i am in the demo, and i can try plugging in one of my PS2 controllers. very strange, and frustrating. i know there are mixed feelings among fans as far as the importance of replays, but i presonally love them. its frustrating not being able to watch my drifts around corners or when i overtook someone. grrrrr:grumpy:

i have a usb to 4 controller hub, originally got it for the computer. i only have one PS3 controller so far so i used it and a PS2 controller when my cousin came over and raced GT4 and the old controllers worked fine.

yeah, it works great, i want to get another PS3 controller but i don't need to spend the $50 right away, plus i'm waiting for the rumble controller to come out and i'll get that. usb hub was like $5 online

I won't be getting another controller, I'm saving for a top wheel.

Another problem: Sometimes the demo crashes during race loading. I have nowhere else seen this problem reported though. :guilty:
Does anyone know where to report bugs to PD?

btw, I this in another thread, but somehow I cannot see it anymore. Mea culpa when this post turns-out to be a double after all.

i have been looking but haven't found where to report bugs, please let me know if you find out. i realize this is basically a demo of a demo and that finding problems is probably part of the reason they even do a demo so i'm not trying to just sit here and complain, i'm just trying to find out if other people are having the same issue or if it's somehow just my machine or specific download and help get it fixed.

That's my idea too. PD seems indeed to brings out demo's early to test a game in development (first GT HD and now GTp-demo). Probably they are monitoring forums like this one for comments, but it might also help to have some kind of bug-report system. I've been loving the GT series since GT1 on the PS1 and want GT5 to be the best racing game ever. User input might help there.

I didn't realize they had these. I have the multi-tap for the PS2, but that isn't USB. Where do you get these from?

the one that looks kinda like a triangle is what the one i have looks like. i think the different ones on that link are just different colors and that kind of thing, but i don't know for sure.

so i tried using the hub for the demo, which did not work, i also tried corning off the PS3 controller and turning it back on while in the game, and plugging it in as i play. i tried the pro physics as well. i tried deleting my save data and the demo and re-downloading and installing. i made it through one two lap replay and that was it. every other attempt i've done so far has had the car just flip out at some point in the replay :grumpy: i am out of ideas, i just want it to work!

I don't believe yr problem has anything to do with the controller.... afterall u can play the game just fine right???? it is only during the replay mode that it decides to do it's own thing!!! :grumpy:

and it seems u have tried downloading the demo a second time too which did not help......!! u must be going crazy!!!

really don't know what advice to give u..... as mentioned i did have that problem only once during a replay but it has never happened again :indiff:

and to make matters worse no one else appears to be having the exact same problem you are having...... *sigh*

yup, thats basically where i am. i didn't really think the controller was the problem but i am willing to try whatever i can try in hopes of fixing it. it sucks, i really like the replays but i they are totally unreliable on the demo for me. i'm hoping that one of the updates they do enveiling the remaining cars will end up fixing the preoblem. but yeah, the controls work flawlessly during the racing itself, which is good. thanks to everyone who gave suggestions and anyone who continues to give suggestions and input:tup:
