HELP: GTR FIA GT Game with DFP

This game looks incredible, but I can't seem to use the DFP properly with it. I don't feel any force from the wheel while I'm driving, thus it feels too loose. (Same with Live For Speed game)

Another problem is: how can I use the gas AND the brake pedals? I can't seem to use the gas pedals unless I uncheck "Report Combined Pedals" on the Logitech Profiler.

Is this game supposed to work properly with the 900 degree mode? I tried it but it didn't feel quite right.

The only game I've successfully felt good using the DFP was NFS Most Wanted: good force feedback while driving and crashing.

Now, is it just how the game was made or am I not configuring something right? I've read many people say the GTR FIA worked great with the DFP, but I wouldn't say it's great if I can't use the brake pedal, and also feel some force while driving on the road.

Ok, I have no idea what I did but the force feedback really vibrates now when I'm driving in the game!

For the Specialized Effects, does everyone select the Logitech MOMO Force? I still like to know how to use the brake pedals.

you should not use combined axis, un check it

accel is reported at Y and brake is RZ i use them fine with GTR and GTL

are you going through and setting the controls manually? it doesnt report it on its own with default dfp settings when not combined

the DFP uses REVERSED effects in most pc games, if you have issues, check and uncheck that, usually sorts out little glitches and such for me

keep in mind that 900 degree mode is designed for 30 degrees of lock, and that you can adjust the degrees in the windows profiler, i use 400 and it seems quite good

do you use the centering spring feature? it helps with the feeling of the wheel loading up with the car, witout it things feel quite light

the momo force effects should feel alright for starters, but if you want really indepth you can even edit your PLR file, theres threads about this on gtp

Oh ok, I didn't know I had to manually set the brake key AFTER unchecking the combined axis. The braking seems to be working fine now. Thanks. Although, I can't seem to manually set the brake (after unchecking) with Live For Speed game.

I just enabled the centering spring feature, and it definitely feels better now. Yes, I hated the "light" feel before.

Now, why is it that these racing sims can't work without unchecking the combined axis? Does the MOMO owners have to go through that too? It's somewhat a hassle. When I play NFS Most Wanted, everything is fine with its default settings. (I love playing that with the DFP more than the racing sims).

Anyone else play GTR FIA or NFS Most Wanted online?

Yes, with the Momo Force you have to uncheck the combined axis.

Do you know why? Because kiddie-games that sell by millions like the NFS series only support combined axis.......

they DO work with combined axis

but the pedals cancel eachother out when you press them, just look at the calibration of GTR for an example...as you press one, then the other, they both go to 0 because the values overlap and cancel eachother out

theres no problem at all with having them unchecked, the problem was that all GOOD games dont use combined axis *gt4 partially excluded*

LFS works fine here btw

make sure after you plug the wheel into the pc you press both pedals down all the way, this calibrates thier range of motion

well i know if the dfp is not plugged in the force feed back will not work.......my dfp's power plug is messed up and sometimes i need to mess with it to get it to work

shinspikes^ You should take a look in the GTR2 thread in the PC games section

And to answer your question, there's no comparing between them.
They're two totally different games.
