Help.. Lost all my cars except the 3 DLC cars

For some reason, the PS4 had been turned off and when starting, it told me It was turned off improperly ,,,and in any case, it recovered and I went into GT Sprt

I noticed that I have lost all my cars. I had over 350 cars... I had all the cars except 1 (The 14mill Lamborghini) and lots of duplicates (Daily workout gifts).

I see just the 3 DLC cars in my Garage.

Any way how to recover this?

There are various threads here about restoring back up saves ect. I’m at work right now don’t have time to help right now. But will try later unless someone else does first.

I did not actively backup anything. I didn't know how earlier. But I went looking for any back it may have done automatically and I saw a save for may (1 month old) I tried recovering that...but that still did not have any of my lost cars. I had all my cars yesterday. just this morning it is not there. Sigh!

If you don't actively backup your game after playing each day then the possibility that you have lost all your game data is very high.
If it is set to backup your game automatically there is also a good chance it has already done so again after you have lost everything.

I think it backed up and it had a backup with todays date and when I recovered from that, it had no cars. So yeah.. there is no multiple past versions to go back to. I have all my status and everything.. Just that I lost all my cars.

This is why I really wish my "how to" topic would be pinned. I do not mean to toot my own horn, but I feel it could be a grand help to others. I've tagged mods a couple of times and asked it be pinned, but I have not heard a response as of yet.

I bought few of my fav cars.. now. I still had my 20million Cr in there... and saved everything in my USB drive.. not much to save...but still , now I know how to save at least. I used to do multiple save with my GT6 in PS3. For some reason, I thought GT Sport was online and that it saved everything online. LOL Go figure. Yeah Cloud and auto save. and it has only 1 version of save ..Pffft!

Atleast now I can enjoy the daily workout freebie cars. LOL

It is so important when you do a backup save to your online storage, is do a manual save daily. Never set your PS4 to Auto- upload.

Go to settings on your PS4 it is in there, I am nowhere near my PS4 at the moment sorry.

I too thought that the periodic autosave every time you play GT Sport was enough.

I've never done a manual save but may switch on in a moment to do just that.

Should be a way, like a camera security system that saves each time to different slots in a cycle so if one slot gets tainted or corrupt that there are other slots to fall back on to restore.

Been rubber banding since this Topicpost and I re purchased 215 unique cars including both the 20Mil cr cars. Reached lvl 50.

The Daily prize has not helped me in this at all.. I don't remember ever getting more than a 1million CR car that I did not own.. the few I got I sold them for 1/3rd and that helped a little.

There are total of 230 cars? Then I am only behind 15 cars?

The cars that I have not purchased are the 15Mil Cr Lombourgini (possible this weekend purchase and rubber band for 2 days)
some of the Vision cars (especially where there are more than 1 ),
Some of the not so good "B" Rally Cars and
some of the Mileage cars that has not been posted since I lost my entire collection

Been taking a back up since. Both Online and USB!

I'm glad to hear you had the willpower to grind yourself back up. Unfortunately most people this happens to, do not, and abandon the game entirely.

I really wish PD would put out a PSA or something advising players to back up their save. Especially considering this usually happens when the game crashes on startup, which is their fault.

Yes had the same issue as well as Itchie. A reaction (at least) would be welcome. Just say “sorry not possible” or something. Always better than not reacting at all. Its just like PD here sometimes
