help me correct Imprezza LM understeer

ah haha....I have setting just for you!

Brakes F/R: 23 / 24

Springs F/R: 15.3 / 18.7
Dampers Bound F/R: 6 / 9
Dampers Rebound F/R: 10 / 10
Camber F/R: 2.0 / 2.0
Toe F/R: .20 / -.20
Stabilizer F/R: 6 / 7

LSD Initial F/R: 25 / 25
LSD Acceleration: 25 / 45
LSD Deceleration: 5 / 25
VCD: 10% to the front

FULL FRONT AND REAR DOWNFORCE

But first, you must drive your car a few laps to get comfortable then switch to these to feel the difference. You have to pay attention to how you enter the turn, and when you power out. Because these settings suit the way I drive and might not suit the way you drive. Try them out. Tell us what part are you not doing well and we can help.

These are my almost final settings thus far. I’ve been tuning ever since GT2, especially Imprezas.

Thanks for thr expert advice...i will try them this weekend and report back...

at the moment its just a stock car with only the gear ratios moved...i have got the front downforce appled a bit more to gain front grip but thats it...

cheers guys

I find as a general rule of thumb,.. that the ONLY time you want the front DF higher than the rear is on FF cars. I always run with max df on both ends.....

btw, just a little edit up there in the settings. The rear toe was wrote wrong. Sorry...

Anyway, I'll be looking for feedback!

Which LSD? Front or rear?
Here's why I set them like that.
The front is set like a 1 way LSD with not too much affect so there's looseness up there for rotation of the front tires. The initial set at 25 helped stabilized the car when on and off throttle, which helped in powering out sooner.

The rear is set like a 1.5way LSD which helps in stability in braking and powering out. Due to the VCD being set at 10% to the rear, traction is needed so a higher setting was set in the acceleration setting.

I'll experiment with lower LSD settings. The car is just not so stable because it keeps on switching from under to over which is why the LSD were set the way they are as I listed above.

My driving style may be different from yours. btw, speedy samurai, which track are you testing these on? The track that I tuned my Impreza with is Grand Valley Speedway. It makes a difference where you tune it too.

Gearing plays a role in with the suspension also when accelerating out of a corner. Not enough acceleration and you'll push. I have JDM STi gear ratios with a 3.500 final drive ratio.

Thanks guys....i still havent got round to trying it out on the car itself...i have written the settings down on a wee post-it note...

just want you to know that i am not taking your settings and running....i'll give you that feedback asap....

cheers

I've lost my memory card somewhere so I'm stuck.

speedy_samurai: have you ever tried playing with the LSD settings? I tried several settings and lap after lap, there was a difference...
