Can anyone help me I'm stuck on the Daytona challenges where you have to drive a perfect line around the corner, I can do Indianpolis but just don't seem to be able to even get bronze on the two Daytona challenges, if I do make it cleanly I'm just too slow, I'm finding it tricky getting the car to steer round, I use the direction buttons for steering and have no problems in other races/ challenges, but this one I'm struggling with, can it be done with the direction buttons or do I need to change to the stick? I don't have a wheel or the funds to buy one at the moment :grumpy:

Any help appreciated!

I was having a lot of trouble with that challenge as well, couldn't even get bronze on it with the DS3.

My solution turned out to be .....getting a wheel.

The second time I tried this challenge with a wheel I golded it.

As I say can't afford a wheel at the mo, but thanks guys will try taking all aids off and then switching to stick

If that doesn't work will invest in a wheel at a later date and come back to this :)

You can do it with a DS3, takes a few attempts as I have done it. As stated turn off all aids. Then you need to brake as little as possible, you can practically go full pelt until the last turn.

One word "WHEEL"

Active steering actually makes it easier on DS3.

But it is still possible with all aids off, just stick to the line as much as possible.

OP, turn off the Anti Lock Brakes(ABS). For some reason, it activates the ASM even if you have ASM turned off ! I was getting very frustrated back in the day when the game first came out because my car was "scrubbing" soooooo much speed in the corners. Turn off the ABS on any NASCAR oval race and watch your average speed jump through the roof !!! Try it, and I promise you win(even with a controller).

ABS does not matter in the intermediate challenge.

This.

Golded first try with the wheel, and immediately thought, my buddy won't pull this off with his DS3 lol

The Inside line at Indy challenge is absolutely infuriating. I've seen videos of people taking that corner at speedswhich would cause serious understeer for me... i can't take it at 270 kmh max, and then my speed drops to about 260 in the corner. If i go any faster i end up hitting the cones.

I've taken all the tips and tricks from the forum, but still, there's no way in hell i can gold this challenge. If anyone has any advice for me (besides buying a wheel) it would be greatly appreciated.

I use a controller and the d-pad, I don't like the sticks... I turned all the driving aids off and put the tranny to manual and never shifted out of 3rd, and I hit gold on my second run. Well the first one anyway... hope this helps!!

Yes I'm stuck on the outside line run at Daytona. I have wheel and still the bumps throw me up into the wall or down into the cones if I'm not going so slow that I fail on time.

And the guy's 'helpful comments' EVERY time I fail are driving me mad! Argh!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ummm you do not need a wheel, I got gold on all of these except one(0.001 off gold!) on a DS3. Turn off all assists, stay as close to those cones as possible, never let off the gas. turn the sound off so you don't want to kill Jeff when he gives awesome advice like "it's a heavy car" "did you jest mess up?" or what ever tibbits of wisdom he has. Try saving your replays and checking them out too. It can be done.

Yeah manual helps big time, auto transmissions always shift late.

Nothing will ever remove my urge to kill GT5 Jeffy. Your advice is probably sound, it's best to stop it before it starts.
