Help needed to get better

Hi everyone,

So I play this GT7 from day one, and that's the first time I'm so invested in a "sim racing" (well I know it's not iRacing) game, my last one was... GT2.

I use the Suzuka track to try out any new car I get or to try new setups, there are two turns especially where I have very much trouble in keeping cars safe, especially road cars (even with downforce) during the dunlop curve and the right curve before the hairpin. In those accelerating curves I try to stabilize the car then have linear acceleration to keep the tyres secure, but eventually I end end loosing rear in a strong oversteer exit corner. I don't liftoff the accelerator, I don't turn the wheel (well the stick, I'm on controller) to make the angle more agressive...
I just to try to keep everything constant, so that if I have grip I'll keep it, but this oversteer keeps hapenning, what do I do wrong ?
 
That happens to some FR roadcars a lot and has been a problem for many players since the beginning of GT7...

What was helping me a lot is supplying the cars with a racing suspension and a racing differential-without even changing the settings, the cars get more stable, and if you fiddle around with the settings there you can make it more stable...
Another thing that helps with certain cars(especially old muscle cars or a car like the De Tomaso Mangusta) is that you change your racing line: brake earlier, and roll through the curve and don't start to accelerate before you finished the turn and are in a straight line again...
 
Well, the Dunlop isn't supposed to be made flat out in most cars, you should have understeer, oversteer or both, depending on the car, except some well tuned race cars.
The right corner before the hairpin (second Degner) you shouldn't have oversteer, if anything you should have some understeer if you enter to fast and not take in consideration the elevation change on the corner. Maybe you come with terrible balance from the first Degner? 🙄

That's very true...If you don't make the first Degner really good and accurate, the second one can get really awful...
 
Yeah I understand that I can't run them flatout, but I don't understand why I go oversteer instead of understeer...

Also I'm sorry, I just figured out that I did not describe the correct turn in my first post, so my first "oversteer" point is within the Dunlop curve, but the second one is the long turn after the hairpin, not before, this one is okay :)
