Help needed

I am a fan if the game so far....

But I'm having serious issues online! My car no matter what tune or make is sooo slow in the straights! I'm losing about 2-3 seconds a lap and it's just really doing my head in!!

I've tuned my cars accordingly and no matter if I have the lowest downforce setting other online guys drive right past me. I had my friend help me an both of us had no tunes and he simply drive away from me even though I was sitting right in his bumper??

I played Race PRo years ago and sometimes if you were host you sometimes got the slowdown bug and I'm posting this to see if anyone can help or having the same problem?

Sorry to add I'm on the PS4.

Tried just now and still having issues, I can't even draft as the opponent just drives away from me??

It's not my tunes so I'm sooo lost???

Have you checked the telemetry to make sure you are actually getting full throttle?

I was having an issue the other day with my throttle only going to 80% at times and was killing my speed. After recalibrating the controls no issues at all.
