help please controller doesnt work

i just installed gt5p and i can do all the selcting and navigating on the menus but as soon as i go race, it acts as if the controller wasnt even connected, the only thing i can do is press pause, i am using the logitech controler for the ps3, is this a problem that i am not using the original ps3 controler or is it something else??? will somebody please shed some light on this for me, i really want to play this game and any help would be extremely appreciated.

USB controllers must sometimes be connected to different ports at least with ps2 games. GT4 works only with my g25 if i plug it into second port from left. Does it work with other games?(you can complain to logitech if nothing else works)
