Help. Reinstalling after 20million credit glitch

Hi.


After my frustration with the way you make money in this game, I decided to try the 20 million credit glitch, instead of spending around 100 dollars on the microtransfering thing.

Basically it consisted on buying the Mercedes Vision, deleting the Game Data on the system, relaunching the game and selling the car. It all went perfectly well, except now the Game Data isn't as big as it was, and I feel the game being slightly slower, by slower I mean loading times, etc.

I installed the 1.02 uprage, and it improved a bit, but my question is, how do I reinstall the game from scratch. I tried deleting everything and then launching the game, but it never installs it. Which eventually made me wonder if it ever was installed in the first place.

Please help me!

It was not ever fully installed. No such option is available in the options menu. (There is an auto install setting switched to 'On' as default. Did you have enough HDD space when you started the game? Maybe it switched itself 'Off?')
As you try different tracks and cars then as the data is pulled of off the BD it gets copied to the HDD as it is used. Meaning next time that data is required then it is accessed from the HDD meaning quicker load times after that initial access.
Some clever dicks on this forum had what seems to be a great idea. Go to options, change the demo settings so that the demo cycles quickly between all of the tracks and cars, thus installing that data to the HD.

Incidentally, I have not played much GT due to Xmas and stuff but I remember deleting about 6gigs of v1.01 data to do the credits thing. I have not yet put that size of a file back on the HDD yet, even with the big v1.02 update totaling 1.25 gig or so.

There is nothing to worry about. Every time you reinstall the Game data it will be smaller than the original file you deleted.
Due to the install as you play method they are using. It will install the info it needs to run then install car and track data as needed(used by you).
And I thought the glitch didnt work anymore.

It does and it doesn't. If you bought the Merc Vision GT car or BMW M4 while running v1.01 then you can still go back to v1.00 and sell them for 20mil. If you bought either of those cars in v1.02 then when you go back to v1.00 they will not be visible and thus can't be sold.

If you just got the game and are starting now, then I assume when it updates it will skip v1.01 and it no longer can be used to get the credits?

Got it working perfectly again.

Relaunched the game and updated it to the 1.02 version. It's about 1,25Gb.

The glitch worked, I still have the money, because i saved the save data on a pen drive. I did everything while running the game on the 1.01 version.

Loading times are as they were when I started the game, quite long, but become shorter as I play it, because, as you said, game data is then saved on the Hard Drive.

I didn't quite understand what you said about the demo settings, didn't find anything, but the auto install option was still 'on'.

Sometimes, it looks weird, especially when I go to my garage, I had to update all the car images, still don't understand why the producers allowed something like that, doesn't look like the perfectionist Yamauchi we used to know, and occasionally it takes a bit longer to load the cars at the showrooms.

Other than that, everything's running fine.
