I've had a VG248 since last spring and I love it. I think it's still pretty much the best value for a 144hz monitor out there. Followed the setup/color settings tomshardware found in their calibration tests and haven't messed with it since.

👍

I think thats the way im heading VG248 it is. Thank You!

Not in the way you're thinking. No tv (bar one that's not even that good) goes above 60Hz.

This. TVs use digital processing to essentially create the illusion that you have a smoother image.
However TVs are limited by it's input, which in 99% is HDMI, which is only able to display 1080p@60Hz or 4k@30hz.
The only inputs that can go beyond these limitations are DisplayPort and DVI-D (not too sure about the DVI bit), which only very few TVs use.
Another disadvantage of TVs is the latency of the panels which most likely will result in input lag and screen tearing, which is very unpleasent. There are some TVs from Vizio (and Sony I believe), which offer a gaming mode which reduces (or tries to reduce) the input lag to a minimum to give you a more pleasent gaming experience, yet the input lag is still far greater than with standard (gaming) monitors.

Coming back to the initial topic:

The ASUS monitor you've posted is a 144hz monitor, which creates another issue you might want to take into consideration. To really have the benefit of this panel you need to make sure that your PC is actually capable of driving this panel. If you're barely getting over 60fps in your games, you won't see a lot if any improvements that would make the extra costs worth it. So, if you're getting below 100fps in your games, then don't even think about getting these types of monitors!

The BenQ on the other hand seems to be a 60hz panel, which is a much more common and much more easier to drive panel and should definitely improve your overall gaming experience, especially if your coming from a low refresh rate TV. However it seems to be a TN panel, which is something I usually tend to stray away from. So, I rather recommend a 60hz 1080p IPS panel, which will offer generally better color accuracy and better viewing angles without causing to much issues with the input lag.

So, if you have the hardware to drive a 120 or 144hz panel and/or are willing to risk a few details and AA to get your frames up, then the ASUS model is definitely worth it. BenQ also offers very, very good high refresh rate and high quality monitors, such as this one
However if you're unsure, if your hardware is able to drive this kind of refresh rate, then going for a 60hz IPS display will also give you a very pleasent experience. I'd recommend this one 👍

I can only recommend ASUs products myself. I've got ASUS hardware in my PC, and I've got an ASUS MX239H 1080p monitor. In terms of monitors you can never go wrong with ASUS.

Whatever you do, don't listen to people saying you need to pay attention to the response times of monitors, because it is nonsense. Go ahead and find me a pair of human eyes that can see any difference in milliseconds, you won't find any.
