Hey all,

So I've been into writing songs for an age and I just recently downloaded the Audacity program because I am already quite experienced with using it at school. Now, at school they seem to have a plugin which basically gives them every instrument under the sun on Audacity . I have searched for it but cannot find it, does anyone have a link that would get me a similar package?
If so, your help would be greatly appreciate, and so would an explanation for a noob like me! :)

Thanks in advance,
Adam. 👍

To make music (Specially electronic music) is highly recommended to use a widely used DAW, like Logic, Ableton or FL Studio.

I won't be making Electronic. I literally just need a piano for Audacity if such a thing exists.

EDIT: Are the things you listed Audacity plugins or separate programs?

I don't know what kind of music you're making, but if you just need a piano and you know a bit about writing scores, I can recommend MuseScore.

http://musescore.org/

It uses soundfonts, and there's quite a few decent ones to download. If you're looking for a good piano sound I can recommend the Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra soundfont, available here: http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/1262167

Personally, I'm only using Audacity as a sound editor.

Here's an example of the Sonatina soundfont in MuseScore:

You can use VSTs (Virtual Studio Technology) plugins, which are working with audacity. The VST I use for pianos specially is the reFX Nexus 2. VSTs are not compatible with Mac, but the Nexus still has a Mac version (In case you use Mac). After all I am not usually working with pianos, but when I use them I layer some clear pianos to get a fat sound.
