Eh, lemme guess. The Ford GT40 Road Car. It took me awhile to beat it with my S2000. Then I saved up for a mod then beat it.

i used a modded Subaru Impreza STi. it took many tries  if you can get out in front..and stay out in front..you should beat him.

I used a R32 GTS-t and won easily. If you've got it the R30 Racing Skyline is a ringer. I've beaten the GT world Champion ship with that car. Set up right it will lap suprisingly fast.

I suggest using either the lancia collezione, or trampio (if REALLY desparate). I remember this also being a problem race when i first tried. I remember using my 394hp S4 and only winning after like 5 attempts. Now i can easily beat the gt40 in 340hp+ cars, although one mess up at that fast S-sweep, and that ford is sniffing around for scraps in no time....

OMFG guy!
Im very disappointed to say the least.

I have successfully beaten the last Historic Car Cup race many a times with guess what:

A Nascar Taurus!

Yes, a Taurus! A frikin FF. Heavy as a mofo. It registers nicely into the HP bracket(394hp race?). I kept ahead of the GT40 all the way. Beat it starting up accelerating and took turns way better.

If you wana beat it, practise is the magic word.

The problem is usually that in that last race there is a HP limit of 295 HP. The dang GT-40 has 305, and puts it on the ground extremely effectively.
The car that I usually use for that particular race (at Rome) is the RX-7 GT-C. I just put tires, Full-race Trans, triple plate clutch, and racing flywheel.
The last item allows me to rev much faster and with some fiddling with the gear box, I can usually keep up with the GT-40 on acceleration, and outrun it on top end.
