The handling with a DS3 is truly wonky.
You can adjust how it plays with a DS3 in the same menu that you would use to tune the wheel settings, if you had one. You may be able to make it feel better.
This was the key for me. The handling with a DS3 was way too floaty until I set the dead zones to 0 and tweaked sensitivity. The menu is a bit hidden for my tastes and I think a lot of initial impressions of the game are ruined because the default setup is so ridiculous.
My two cents...

What sensitivity are you using now?
I wonder if the manual says how to get to the advanced menu... but who read manuals nowadays. Everything is so simple![]()

Now THAT is understatement.![]()
no joke, with the slower cars it was ok but the GT1 ZO6 race was practically impossible.
I am not giving up quite yet, and will be giving Shift 2 every chance. Now wait, it gets worse at with faster cars? Yikes!![]()
my experience in the gt1 was left, right, left, right, wall and roll.
I read the manual, smart guy. And it ain't in there. ;>

You must have forgotten to push A B A B Select+Start.![]()
