hey everyone, first time poster, and ive been trying to drift for quite some time now, and im a huge fan of FC's and S13's, well ive been trying to drift and i took some footage,lol, not the best driving and drifting, seeing taht i barley started driving the s13 today, but oh well, i tried....


*as you can see...i had the drift going along for a sec or two at the last turn but i guess i downshifted to quick! DOH!

I dont really like drifting so I wont look, but we have a drifting forum here if you ever want help drifting

You've definately come to the right place to sharpen those drift skillz. The starting of your drifts looked really clean......just need to get a little more confidence in your abilities (the whole secret to getting sideways) and don't be afraid to spin out a few times in order to get it right.:sly:
BTW: what settings are you using???? Until I started digging around the Drift Settings Depot and www.GTvault.com I had soooo much trouble getting around corners.......

Tip: don't use the word "TRY".....it'll kick your @$$ every time!!!!

Keep the vids coming.......I, for one, would like to see your progress. Good quality for pointing a camera at the TV, and loved the music.

THX FOR THE FEEDBACK GUYS, the settings im using are just stage 4 turbo and dirt tires. its a bummer i can't change the AVC *or what ever its called* when ever i try going into the settings menu before a race or right after ive finished a race, my gt3 freezes! ive tried doing everything like cleaning my ps2 and gt3, starting a new game, taking out the mem card to see if my saved game was corrupt, but still, no luck, here this is what im talking about, its a vid i have up showin what happens:
Right click and save, you need divx! ;)

ummm.......try using a brand-new mem card and/or new game disc. My friend and I had a problem with Tekken Tag doing that, and that's what the problem was.
Tire tip: Ditch the dirt tires!!!!!!! use racing tires.....I use Super Softs with TCS at 1 (for better grip) or SIMS with ASM & TCS on.

yeah i heard that if you use simulation tires, you spin out easilly, giving the drift an advantage, so i used taht and boy...what a pain! lol, ive tried using a new mem card and no luck either! the weird thing is, i don't get no music when i race, so i guess its obviously a cd problem, so today i tried cleaning it and no luck again! so i guess im gonna have to replace the cd, i could still drive tho, so thats a plus!:embarrassed: :(
 
Sorry to hear that......Well, I guess you're out ten bucks, but that's good news that your mem card isn't the problem. I'd have to kill myself if I had to start all over again:banghead:

The SIMs are a pain in the @$$, but then again, alot of these guys on here drift with them. It's good to learn....check the Drift Settings Depot.....some of the settings are pretty good, making the SIMs less of a pain.
 
im pretty sure you cant use dirt tires unless your on a dirt track.. it looks like you either have some really grippy tires, or you forgot to turn off the tcs and acm..
 
Yes, if you have dirt tires purchased for a car it automatically puts them on for dirt courses, and reverts to whatever street tires were on it when you go somewhere else.

YEAH, like i said before, i was using dirt tires, and i can't change the tcs and acm because when i try changing the settings of my car before a race, my gt3 just won't show up the next menu:( . bummer!
 
Yeah your kinda gonna have trouble drifting until you get a new disc. But try getting an RX-7( the second one, or the first new one, the FD) and put it on sims. It drifts really well and is hard to spin, or atleast thats what ive found, but having TCS and ASM on is gonna be quite a handicap. Kepp drifting
