Just like to introduce myself, ive been visiting these forums for quite a while now so i feel that now is the time to finally register.

Im 43 from manchester and have been a GT enthusiast since the first GT on PS1, i think the main reason for my registration is to let you all know that since the spec2 update i have fallen in love with GT5, it totally immerses me and i was never really a massive online fan till now as ive had some truly epic edge of the seat races on Spa using nothing but classic cars from the 60s and 70s.

I cant explain it but using a wheel on GT5 is a fantastic experience and i find it hard going back to using a pad although i will do if im feeling lazy
What i would love to see is the introduction of my opponents lap times during and post race on the results page, that would be so good as well as a real time split counter for the person ahead and behind.

I love the direction GT5 is heading and its like night and day compared to the game we got nearly a year ago so a big thank you to Kaz and his team for all their hard work

Welcome sirsilver1968, couldnt agree with you more about the way a wheel boosts the experience, its just mind blowing for want of a better expression. Its turned the game into what it calls itself, the real driving simulator i cant get enough of it. Not far from you too, over in Northwich.

Dude, yeah the wheel makes all the difference. I feel for those using a pad.., in fact, a good analogy is, having no wheel is like having sex with just the tip! Can't happen!!

Hello and welcome to the forum. I can't say I share the same fascination for the vintage cars as you, but I'd gladly join you in a romp around spa in anything. That track is truly brilliant.

I also would enjoy seeing a detailed timing and scoring system for online races, but we may be in the minority on this one.

On the whole my on-line experience has been good on GT5 with the exception of a couple of idiots who like to hit you as you draft them on the start finish line but hey that's the nature of the beast unfortunately, i will add you guys later.

there's one car that im smitten with and thats the R32 i am having a blast with this car on Spa

Burning the midnight oil arent you!! or are you also stuck at work like me!?

Im toying with the idea of a wheel for GT5 but cant commit to it as I dont have anywhere to use it/mount it without buying a stand.

Hi stane, yes i am burning the midnight oil, i went to my pit at 9pm and woke up at 2.20am and couldnt get back off to sleep *yawns* just as well ive decided to pull a sicky as im not too clever atm.

Well squire i was in the same boat as you regarding the wheel and i found the perfect solution, i have an old cabinet ad i simply removed the 2 drawers so that gives the room to put my pedals and also room to clamp the wheel on, its about 2 1/2 feet high so its at a perfect height for me.

lol, I had exactly the same set up for the wheel on my PS1 many moons ago.
