I have been checking out GTPlanet for a few years now, but have finally decided to join and participate in the WRS.

I have been playing GranTurismo since 1998. I decided to buy my first wheel after playing F198 on my new PSone for about 5 minutes! The controller just didnt light my fire, so straight down town and grabbed a Gamester Dual Force. It was a really nice wheel at the time compared to others that I tried (madcats and Mclaren). I have owned several wheels, and curreltly own 5 FFB wheels: Driving Force, Driving Force Pro, Driving Force EX, Driving Force GT, &G25.

I built a cockpit almost immediately. I have built several different rigs for mysef and others, including ones that fold up that I used to take with me when I was working away from home, and set up in motel rooms and GT up rather than watching telly at night. Quite a few late nights and bleary eyed days at work!

My current rig has a G25 with my own rally style handbrake, modded shifter, extended and offset pedals with an AP Electrix load sensor brake, Dual Logitech x230 2.1 speakers, Buttkicker gamer, Acer projector using a 1.5 meter wide screen, 94 Honda Civic seat (very comfy), and a fan mounted in the front to flow cool air though when battling at 10/10ths. I am constantly modifying and upgrading the rig. I am building a biga$$ sequential shifter at the moment (V8 supercar style), and will spring mount the seat and controls to increase the effectiveness of the buttkicker and eliminate the screen shaking. A HD projector is next on the wishlist.

I dont have a gaming computer at this time, as I'm fairly dedicated to Gran Turismo. Of the few PC games I have tried briefly, none of them seemed to have the feeling or believability in the physics as GT, but I may stand corrected. I also play other console driving games, but usually tire of them fairly quickly from not having realistic enough physics, and often poorer graphics. A gaming computer is a something I would like to explore in the future, but its hard to justify the expense at this time. I dont really play any other types of games other than driving games. Im a car racing nut, not a computer nut, or a gaming nut.

I have completed GT1, GT3, GT4 and GTP. (GT2 only got 98% completed before the PS2 arrived!).

I have never raced online before, although I have had many LAN races with mates and relatives. I love the competitiveness of LAN racing, the fact that your competitors are right next to you, the banta, sharing and reliving the race on replays, and the skill level that you rise to with the chalenge of real competitors. The longer you race, the more focused you become (even despite the amount of alcahol consumed). Many sunrises have been seen from my shed through bleary GT eyes!

Finally like to mention what an awesome website this is. Its a brilliant source of knowledge and inspiration. Any problems or questions I've have, I can usually find the answer in the forums somewhere. Keep up the good work guys, brilliant! Cheers.

Welcome aboard to the good ship GTP, finally!

Show us some pics of your GT rig...

G'day mate, you'll never guess what country I also happen to originate from.:dopey: Hope you enjoy yourself at GTP.👍

Welcome to :gtplanet:!

I am also from Queensland Australia, a bit north of Brisbane. Its been damn hot so I dont blame you for being at your computer and possibly in the future on GTplanet.

Enjoy your stay .

Hey there SimYouLater, another QUEENSLANDER :D
I used to kick around in your part of the world, when I was a young fella.
