hi guys im new here please read

hi everyone i was wondering can you turn on an endurance race and leave ot on 3x speed all the way through without having to go back to it because im trying to do the 24hour races but im not allowed to leacve my playstation on over night:confused: thanks guy :):)

Unless you put it back on 3x speed after every pit stop, it will return to normal speed when your B-spec driver pits.

I will note that people have left their PS2s on for weeks at a time while running the 24-hour enduros in A-spec mode. I realize your parents are probably telling you you can't leave it on, but if the machine has enough room around it to stay cool, it won't hurt it to leave it on.

If you start first thing in the morning and reset the speed multiplier during the day, it will get the job done while you are awake, in about 8 hours. 💡

Do that for the 3 24-hour races and you can finish the game.

Cheers,

MasterGT

It seems most people are not willing to watch the display screen for 8 hours on end though. PD should have kept it in 3x speed in the pit lane and give you one third of the time you'd normally get to select your options for the pit in.

I agree, although purists might argue about how it takes away from the true racing simulation feeling. I personally did them only to get 100%; I've never been a fan of endurance races.

I would be all for the 24-hour races if they had better AI and the more realistic 55 cars rather than 6.

Yeah that would be me. :D Forget the fact that I'm a purist...why would anyone buy a video game (any videogame) and then not play one of its more interesting facets? Even if you B-spec the entire 24 hours, I think you should at least be aware of how Bob is doing...The concept of B-spec to me takes a bit of planning after all, it's not like you can just walk away from it.

After all, (as we've been seeing lately from some recent posts) Bob doesn't always know what he's doing. 💡 He can screw up worse than we can after all. I've even been guilty of this...I'll let Bob take over; next thing I know he's sucking out there and I'm sweating bullets while he's losing time! :irked:

Hey, I know I'm not the greatest driver in the world but I'm not that bad, am I?

True. I took my time training Bob, and when I did the 24 hour races, Bob was up to around 8000 points, and I had all the 24 hr races done in 3 days (B-spec!), but on a personal basis, endurance races ins't the best part of GT4 (or the whole GT series). I think out of all of them, I only enjoyed the ones in GT2, and that was because I could earn lots of money out of the ~285hp endurance race (Trial Mountain?).

Very well put, another point that deserves a +Rep. In real life you have to be the "Director" with your driver, not go to sleep and make him do all of the work.

When I let "BOB" do the races I see how long it takes between pit stops after that I use a kitchen timer and set it to go off right before the pit stop comes up that way I can watch TV and jump back and forth. I'm on a PS3 and have left it on for 5 straight days at a time. Two weeks ago I was trying to A-spec a 24hr race (pausing) ever now and then and guess what happened? You guessed it I was sleeping and woke up at about 8:00 am just as I heard my (battery backup for my PC started beeping) power failure for about 3 seconds only,I was about 10 hrs into race and PS3 shut down. I do hope that in the next game you can stop a long race and go back to it,even if you have to finish that race before you can race elsewhere.

Ha ha. well "Bob" doesn't always drive so bad. Sometimes Bert, Bettina, Bruce, or Bill can take over and suck, too! :D

That's cuz the races in GT2 were all rather short...2 hours seemed like a long time back then! I enjoyed all the GT2 enduros. Some of the GT3 ones plain out sucked. They were just boring with you + 5 cars, each doing their own time trial. The only good ones in GT3 were the Rome enduro (with Clio & TVR present), Roadster Enduro, and a couple others.

Wow that sucks. Yeah we had a power-outage a couple weeks back just for a second or 2. There wasn't even a thunderstorm....just the power went out. :grumpy: I was right in the middle of some race. Honestly, I didn't care about the race...I just hoped my memory card wasn't screwy! Which it wasn't
