Finally signed up after years of lurking. Just moved into my own flat finally and I picked up a PS3 after getting along with a 360 and PC for the past couple years.

I'm a huge F1 and AussieV8 fan and motorsport at all tiers. So being a racing enthusiast I loved tracking the GT Academy drivers and their exploits, so I found GT Planet after hearing lots of mention of the drivers using the site and such and caught myself reading through a lot more than just the GT Academy sub, great lot you've got here.

Although I've played the occasional game of GT5 at my friend's house, I was mostly sim racing back at home when I had my rig set up.

I did a lot of Race '07 with tons of mods and the occasional rFactor and netKar shenanigans. I also had an Xbox for a while and really enjoyed Forza 3 for a while, but then I got the red ring and that was that. So I continued sim racing with my buddies for a while in leagues...

Then my wheel broke, and just a couple of months before I moved out from home, so that was just terrible timing since I couldn't afford to spend any extra funds.

But just recently I was able to pick up a "fat" PS3 for quite a bargain out of nowhere from a friend.

Now I'm faced with a high need for good racing, but low money to get it going, with an ok basis. So instead of buying another G27, or equivalent, I opted for a DFGT after some advice from a good friend. He also recommended GT5 online racing leagues, so you know I'll get on that proper quick.

I won't be getting my old rig back from home for a good while now, so I can't return to sims quite yet, but I needed to scratch my intense itch for racing, so GT Planet it is.

Thanks for reading,
Cheers
