Hi everybody!

I've been around full scale racing my whole life: father raced motocross professionally, I raced karts up to world championship level, worked in formula racing for way too many years and now engineer for the top Canadian Formula Ford team (Britain West Motorsport).

Sim racing has been an off and on thing, mostly on consoles. Back in GT4 I built a sim using a Momo race seat in a wood frame with a GT Pro wheel (the old version of the DFGT).

Recently I've been using the I'm as a coaching tool with GT5. I have a couple of cars set up specifically for certain attributes and I get my drivers to learn to drive them. We discuss the pros and cons real time, all with the goal of developing better feedback from them, as well as self diagnosis tools.

After researching quite a bit on here, I just picked up a G27 (wow, what a difference). Tomorrow it will be solidly bolted into the sim along with a shifter perch. Then a Perfect Pedal and maybe a custom pedal box.

I considered the CSR-E, but availability and quality issue have me a bit spooked. At least the pedals will be compatible if I go for the wheel.

I'll get some pics up of the sim once I get the G27 in it.

Cheers, Phil.

Welcome to gtplanet phil!

Welcome to GTP Phil! :D

Firstly, welcome!

Secondly, His GTP name's not "Phil."

It's Pilmat (Montréal is a French-speaking city,) and, imaginably, that means that "Pilmat" is pronounced "Pil-maw" with a silent t.

Thirdly, hey there Pilmat. As a fellow Canadian, it's nice to see more of us here.
