Ok. I've been having these problems with my modded high speed cars. When you get up towards the top end I hear this constant wheel chirp. Assuming its something with my suspension, why is it doing it and how do I fix it!?!?! It's driving me absolutely nucking futs! I searched for it all over, and the only thing I could come up with were the screen jitters that everyone is having with the games scan lines. This is not the problem i'm talking about. Please someone help and cure my woes. also does anyone else have this problem?

You'll get it in all the super cars. I believe it's the car running at max and barely holding onto the road. The tires, good as they are, cannot cope with the push that the engine is giving them. My alternate guess is that it is not in fact the tires but the body of the vehicle slicing through the air so fast that it sings. That's my two cents.

I think this is mostly due to not so great programming of teh force feedback effects. At high speed in the faster prototype cars the FF is constantly going back and forth, GT3 had the same problem. Switching the FF strength to a lower setting helps this. Also the new 900 degree wheel smoothes the jitters out a little, but not completely.

Raise the ride height - it needs to be raised at the rear to stop the problem but you may need to raise the front as well to keep a balance.

Soften the suspension settings slightly but the aim is to not let the car bottom out - so soften them less proportionately than the ride height increase.

I generally raise by at least 15mm front and rear for the Nurb and Le Sarthe (you may not get the same symptoms elsewhere). I soften the springs by decimals only maybe 0.5-0.8.

I may also change the bound and rebound but it all depends on the car.

If I settle on a 10mm raise then I may not change the bound/rebound. If I raise by 20mm (which I have at the Nurb and Sarthe) then I drop bound and rebound by 1 all around. With 15mm I test to see what bound/rebound settings work.

If you need long tyre life then go for the hrdest tires you are comfortable with but softer tires may help with this issue.

You could also play with downforce but this will also unbalance the car if not done right.

If all else fails then leave it. Cars going over 200mph do make a noise especially on these 2 tracks.

He's not talking about any Force Feedback effects.

He's referring to the constant rear tire-chirping noises you get on the Sarthe straight with many cars. You can hear it best when you switch to rear view. Its pretty loud in that view.

I believe the general consensus of opinion is that it is caused by the ride height being too low, causing the car to bounce up and down on the bumps, loading and unloading the rear tires.

This was discussed at length in a thread, but I sure can't find it...

Thats kind of what I thought it was, I searched extensively for a thread on this, with no avail... then I started to think it was just in the game and not a problem seeing how it happens with a stock jgt car completely stock. I tried raising the ride hight but I still had the noise. Next I will try softening up the suspension instead.
