Hello Tuners.
I was surfing the web and came across this site.

http://www.historictransam.com/racephotos/2013Monterey-1.html

I know there is a bunch of us old gear heads, that probably, "vaguely" remember this.
What I'm asking is, if anyone would be interested in tuning some of these cars at 550 PP SS tires etc. Help would be appreciated with setting up weight restrictions and other variances.
Most of the cars are in the game except, the Javelin.
We could also add the Nova, El Camino:sly:, Pozzi, Trans Cammer, and others.
Just a thought,I know FITT did an old muscle car shoot out so there should be some tunes in there.
If anyone is interested in this please add your thoughts or PM me.
I would love to get some of us in a room and do some real racing together.

I'll throw my Nova tune up soon, I did it ages ago so I just need to give it quick polish so its at its very best

Just use the same rules as the FITT contest, they worked pretty well and gave a fairly close field. It had to be split into 2 groups because some cars of the era were about 4 seconds faster, can't remember which ones off the top of my head

Well I think a bunch of us should get out and do some online racing 1 night.
Break it into the slow's and the pro's!
LOL

My internet isn't great so I can't promise to make it to the race, but I can always try, sounds like fun

I'd definitely be down for this. as for car classes, I tried to get a multi class series going where you would have 4500pp and 600pp cars racing at the same time. 2nd race would change cars for each driver.

So for this you might have the slower muscle cars running basically factory power + oil change and just adjust the weight to make it even. Then for the cars that were naturally faster, add power enough to be about 100pp higher than the other class.

In the example above we just made the race enough laps to hit lap traffic about 4 times for the leader. It was incredibly fun while practicing and figuring out what cars to use. I could just never get enough people on board. It also worked out because you had two classes and could group drivers based on a qualifying time. guys above Xlaptime in the slower group and guys below Xlaptime in the faster group.

It made for great strategic racing because lap traffic could make or break a lead. Also, with about 20 laps you had to pit as well.

Regardless of how it's put together, I'm in lol.

Well I'm trying to figure out all the cars, some are heavier than others and more power.Any help would be appreciated.

i just got back in from out of town. If you want, I can go over the list and come up with two classes as a starting point.

If this happens I am soooo in!
I've just emailed them at HTA about sending me the original rules and regs for cars in the original TransAm races. So, if they agree and send them, we can create custom TransAm cars based on the original restrictions.
