The Australian Holden Special Vehicles has a department that occasionally presents quite powerful models. The latest creation is this HSV GTS Maloo with no less than 585 hp!

Holden Commodore in Australia has on offer, a sedan whose brand is also a kind of pick-up has on offer: the Ute. The sporty design pickups evoke memories of the classic El Camino's, and the versions Holden Special Vehicles (HSV) occasionally launches are certainly desirable.

The version that HSV has inflated, but do not go as Ute Maloo through life. This new GTS Maloo has a pretty aggressive-looking carriage with an excess of air holes, slot support and the necessary spoilers. Four exhaust pipes also give the buttocks a powerful appearance and 20-inch aluminum wheels with special rubber around it must bring the power to the road.

That ability is no less than 585 hp and torque 740 Nm. Responsible for these figures is a Supercharged 6.2-liter V8. Switching to a six-speed manual, but a six-speed automatic is optional available. A sports suspension, an adapted braking system and a controlled-slip differential are also all of the party.
A total of 250 examples were built, of which ten are shipped. Another 10 units will go to the 'adjacent' New Zealand.

There were plans for GM to bring this to the US as a Pontiac but Pontiac is dead now because GM went bankrupt and had to receive a bailout in either 2008 or 2010.

Just saw this TopGear.com. Of course I'm voting for it. My kind of truck: insane power, good looks, and oversteer everywhere, wet or dry. And a large trunk to boot! Eat that, supercars!!👍
Edit: Just learned that Holden will cease production in Australia by 2017. WTF?? Now they will be re-badged Chevys. I feel for the Holden factory workers. Best of luck to you guys and hope that you'll find new work quickly.
