Home Regions

How about home regions (à la Forza), where the vehicles available for purchase are those available in those regions? That way, Americans could get what's available in America, not what's available in Japan.

REGIONS

North America
Europe
Asia
Australia

So to get cars from Europe I'll have to do what exactly?

Edit: I think I get it now, it's some sort of silly plan to put less cars in GT5. I thought there might be some hidden, "read between the lines" type of reasoning there.

Pretty stupid idea on the whole, as it only serves to hurt the game and its sales.

I think you´re right, this would suck! I want to be able to drive a Viper or a Supra too, not just Beemers and Mercs.

I think he meant it like in Forza, where your home region determines how rare a car is, you CAN still get all the other cars, they're just prizes or harder to find ect.

So if you live in Canada - you cant get a Skyline? (im joking btw)

Think this would wast the game, only thing i can wish for is more variations of cars not more models of the same cars!

No he didn't say that, he said like in Forza, so picking Europe would make European cars more easy to find and buy, getting a Viper might cost a bit more than if you were in the US region ect just like it is in Europe. I don't like the idea myself since I prefer the open ended approach, but it's not like you guys have all assumed it is. Cars you can't actually buy in that region will simply become prize cars ect. Maybe have an import dealler for the more common cars from other regions. But like I said, I prefer the open ended approach.

-> Home regions are a nice idea but it would be a hassle in the long run. But I'd like to see a certain manufacturer sorted by their region of cars on where are these cars are available on their home market (and cars that are not available globally {like Land Cruiser 100}, heres an example:

=TOYOTA=
> Europe - Avensis, L/C Colorado, Yaris Verso, Corolla T-Sport, etc.
> U.S.A - Camry SE, Sienna XLE, Tacoma X-Runner, Matrix XRS, etc.
> Asia - Vios, Innova, Previa, Echo, Corona Exior, Tamaraw FX, etc.
> Japan - Supra RZ, MR-2 G-Limited, Town Ace, Hi Lux, Mega Cruiser, etc.
> Austrailia* - Avalon Grande, Corolla Sportivo, Land Cruiser Prado, etc.
> Africa* - Corolla, Tazz, Land Cruiser Pickup, etc.
> South America* - Corolla, Land Cruiser 70, Hi Lux SW4, etc.

=Ford=
> Europe - Mondeo ST, Focus RS, Galaxy, Fiesta ST, Puma, etc.
> U.S.A. - Focus SVT, Mustang Cobra GT500, F-150 Lightning, Contour SVT, Taurus SHO, etc.
> Asia - Lynx RS, Everest, Ranger (aka. Mazda Proceed), etc.
> Japan* - Focus, Fiesta, Explorer, etc.
> Austrailia - Falcon FPV, etc.
> Africa* - Ikon, Laser,Bantam, Telstar, etc.
> South America* - Eco Sport, Courier, Ka, etc.

* - If ever

(:

Having a regional filter when searching for cars would be cool, say you pop into the Subaru garage you can view all cars, cars sold in a certaion region, cars by age, engine ect. It'd make picking cars for certain cups easier too, especially if PD do what I'd like them to do and individualise the cups a bit more by introducing more rules and regs to enter.

-> And also the best way to separate all of those different variants of cars, and a lot less time scrolling like in GT3 & 4. That will lessen the various types of Evo's (FQ-series in Europe; Evolution in US, and GSR's in Japan). Heh, heh, I'd like to shop 'round different Evo's that way. (:

I don't really like this one. I enjoy driving cars that are available in other ragions not just whats in America. If its about makin cars harder to get I don't like that Idea either. I like it how it is I just want more cars in general.

GT4 Pal version has one glaring fault in regard to regions.
The race for the Lexus IS is in Japan while you have to buy the car in America.
I spent weeks searching for a used Lexus IS in the used car lots, never to find one, wondering how I was going to enter this event.
I say no to regions.
The car market these days is mainly global so GT should reflect this.

I think regions would be a good idea... just listen to this... Live for speed only has a few cars and tracks and you have to practice alot to get good with a car/track combo. i have had the game for years and there are still a few tracks, configs and cars i am not completely familiar with.

If we had regions it would maybe organize things a bit. it might make finding decent races easier. i dunno... i'm tired.. goodnight
