Tuner Comments:
For those who didn’t want to start GT5 with the MX-5, there was the EK9 Civic. This Civic Type R has received the magic touch and now storms the tracks with an N/A 282bhp VTEC scream box. As it was my first car in GT5, I gave it the VTi-R nickname. It’s easily capable of keeping up and beating up its RWD and 4WD competitors. Don’t underestimate the FF platform.

Fun Fact: This setup works on the Honda Mugen Motul Civic Si Race Car '87.

From RKM, one of the best tunes I've tried so far for that car.

The rear springs are too soft! Does it work well???

Thats what I found when I tried them, It would snap into oversteer. At the ring, I have found the -20 toe on the front AND on the back with 0.5 camber on the front, zero rear camber seems to suit me. But as you can tell I am exploring other options.

The rear springs aren't too soft, if you're running it on the tyres it is meant to be run on. Below is a quote, from the man himself, regarding running cars that were designed for SS tyres on RS tyres.

If an FF built for SS tyres oversteers too much on RS tyres, double the rear spring rate.

Mind you, these guys basically take a tune, throw it on a car with bloody racing slicks on and complain about the handling even though the biggest issue is originating form themselves. It's hardly anyone's fault but their own.

I think it's weird how I try harder spring infront and softer rear before cause I end up understeering.. so when I tried to do the opposite (SOft infront, hard at the rear) It works better for me (Sports soft or racing tyres)
plus the damper compression at rear is stiffer than front and the anti roll bar.....
Like seriously, I usually test my cars in Nurburgring , Tsukuba, and Fuji and my 450 PP Civic EK can keep up with those S2000's and RX7 .
If anyone of you were interested, i'm willing to share my tune once there are people that wish to see my tune. tnx!

I'm curious to see your setup.

I am in the middle of testing a few 450pp FF's so I can compare yours with mine.

hi there peeps GT 5 peeps.

i have also tried the setup above and its good. i just have a question, trying it out on the SS7 course and on the long stretch max speed that i could get is at 164 - 165 mph. How can i max it to produce up to 175 - 180 as the other EK's i played with maxing out up to 180 watching the replay of the race. thanks.

If you have the exact same transmission settings as above you just need to change the Final Drive.

At the moment it is 4.400, if you lower it to around 3.900 or somewhere near, it will improve your top speed. You may need to go more or less, that is just a guess, but in the top right hand box you woill want it to read 10-15mph more than the max speed you require.

I see a lot of people are still using the settings posted up above, even through they're a year old. Good to see it works even after so many changes to the physics and tuning aspects of the game. I have updated that tune a couple of times since it was posted, so it's probably better that you use the up-to-date one.
